Mostly here to vent. I know AI in production has been used sparingly over the last few years when it comes to projects I have been working on. When I say that, I mean it has been used to clean up a shot or throw some VO over a demo for client presentation…but in the last month I am working on three projects where the solve has been using generative AI to produce a lot of content in a short amount of time. This is has been due to poor planning, budget, and client expectations. (Continued below)

As a software developer, my core focus has been on AI, I’ve been deeply invested in the field for the past few years. Most of my recent work centers around Agentic AI and multi-agent systems, and I’ve developed several hands-on projects that reflect a strong understanding of these areas. I’m looking to take the next step in my journey, which I feel is me entering the AI field. I'd greatly appreciate any insight on further areas you all think I should develop in, certificates, projects, etc.

Hi folks! Obviously AI is inevitably part of our industry now , and I do want to be levelling up with how it’s used and what I understand. I can’t count on my work for the growth / development so I want to do my own musings… I love learning , SO …any content , courses (free or not free), or other resources you’ve been looking at that’s been helping refine skills (apart from learning by doing?) *based in Canada. Doesn’t need to be AI, just advertising in general !! Happy Holidays!

Curious if anyone felt the pressure of AI in the field? I want to stay ahead of the curve and I’m also worried about the job security of our industry. I think most of us see the seeds at our companies being planted to eventuality lean heavier into AI. I think supply chain is undervalued at most companies and would look to cut the cost their first. Has anyone looked into AI certifications or degrees? Has anyone been able to integrate AI successfully into their everyday?

A survey by Challenger, Gray & Christmas linked AI to 7% of total U.S. layoffs announced in January. Given the stock price boost to the companies citing AI in job reduction announcements, I’m expecting more companies to mention AI and other technologies in the near future when announcing layoffs, even if productivity increases from AI isn’t really the driver. What do you think of stating AI as a reason for these job actions?

My company just rolled out AI tools for the whole marketing team and now leadership is questioning why we need as many people. Roles that used to pay $95–$110k are being posted at $78–$85k with "AI-assisted" in the description. Efficiency gains are supposed to benefit everyone, but somehow they only benefit the company. Anyone else seeing AI used as a justification to cut comp? How are you pushing back?

It's Transformative Tuesday! With AI here to stay, I wanted to see if it could revamp my old resume. I found an article that seems helpful, but I'm hesitant about using AI to fill it out. What are your thoughts? Do you see AI as cheating, or a source of inspiration for job applications and resumes? https://www.forbes.com/sites/bernardmarr/2025/07/29/land-your-next-job-with-ai-help-prompts-included/

Across sectors firms are getting accused of using AI “inappropriately”. Last week FreightWaves a data and media company that calls themselves, “The Bloomberg of Freight” was accused using AI to write articles after a handful of journalists exited from their media division. Deloitte is being accused of using AI to create reports after a handful of erroneous citations were found.

Every PM around me kept saying “you’ve gotta learn AI” — but no one could explain which AI skills actually mat I tried this quick tool (ai-career.quiz-us.com/career) that analyzed my background and showed which AI areas align with my product experience. I focused on those for a few months, applied them to real side projects, and ended up with a $20K salary jump. You gotta check it out.

I think using AI in Job Hunting is like a eating a mushy Holiday sandwich. You have all the perks of using AI as the moist turkey, and your achievements are all the stuffing, but these multiple layers of AI use in Resumé building and ATS screening creates a mush between cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. You can still eat that sandwich but you have to get through the messy bits.
