Anyone worked at General Atomics in Poway as a Software Developer? I have a 2.5 hr onsite interview coming up for an Associate Software Developer role that states "will include white board coding problems and design questions among other topics, with a focus on C and C++", and just want to get an idea of the types of questions I should expect to do on the white board, and should I be expecting system design questions for entry level, or what type of "system" questions will this consist of?

I began my career working in Nuclear Power, designing tooling/equipment for refueling outages. I currently work in defense, designing directed energy weapons systems. This is a field that has the possibility of growing exponentially over the next 20 years. I might have an opportunity to go back into nuclear with my original employer's biggest competitor for substantially better pay/benefits + 100% remote. Would have to work in the field 2-3 months/year. Any thoughts/recommendations?

I just worked on a shoot where half the crew was union and half non-union, and wow the divide was real. Union crew got better pay, guaranteed breaks, and turnaround time, while non-union folks were expected to just “tough it out.” It created tension that no amount of pep talks could fix. I get both sides, but it felt like two different worlds existing on the same set. Has anyone actually seen a production bridge that divide, or is it always going to be us vs. them?

What is the best area of single plaintiff work to break into as far as learning curve, and splitting with other non-employment litigation? I currently handle general litigation but might have the opportunity to work with some other partners on employment work. I will likely have flexibility in picking what cases I start off with. I would like to find an area that is interesting but is also manageable to learn while also balancing the rest of my caseload. Thanks!

“Quiet cracking” is the new term for silently disengaging from a job that slowly breaks your spirit. Let’s call it what it is: burnout. The major causes are the same as they’ve always been: being overworked, undervalued, and disrespected. If leaders want to cure it, they need to make it safe to talk about it.

Does anyone have any tips for a second interview with a nuclear plant? Maybe some things I should know if they bring up or anything I should say? I am not the best welder, but I’ve done the weld test before. I am not to worried about that, just kinda nervous about the questions.

This process is so brutal. So so so much waiting and patience. I have no patience so this is very hard. We are a lesbian couple in the early stages of reciprocal ivf. Having issues picking a donor who doesn’t have some sort of genetic issue. It’s taking forever and delaying egg retrieval :(

Felt so blessed IUI worked for us first time, even got extra lucky we had identical twins as a result. Now miscarrying at 9 weeks, I am so heartbroken, sore, anxiously waiting for the bleeding to really start. Don't know how I'm going to do this again, all I want is to hold my little baby

This is an amazing discovery; however, it also feels like some kind of insane sci-fi movie plot. Would you sign up to have a third person's DNA introduced into your baby making process if it meant decreasing the risk of disease? I wonder what those custody battles will look like? j/k
