      Confession

Love my gf and see this relationship as long term. I’m from Congo and have lost family members I was somewhat close to growing up to diamond mining. She knows this and how I feel about mined diamonds. We recently talked about engagement rings and she says “you’re not actually serious about wanting to give me a lab mined diamond, right?” It turned into a bit of a fight. Is it crazy that this has made me rethink our long-term compatibility?

Want some validation / reassurance / advice on next steps: 31M, HCOL city, $42K in cash savings, ~$450K in retirements (401k/IRAs) - spent a big chunk of cash ($25K) on an engagement ring recently and worried I'm not in great liquid financial shape. We'll have to pay for probably half of our wedding (i'm looking at ~$20k personally). Fiancee is in good financial shape with significantly more liquid than me, but I have a higher net worth. Thoughts on tangible actions / am I in decent shape?

I have been watching companies like Robinhood and Coinbase (among others) to see what products they develop since they currently can pivot faster than your big banks like Chase or PNC. Robinhood has a product for that offers staking for ETH. One of the catches is Robinhood takes 25% of the “profit” from the staking. 25% seems high - like highway robbery high. Those who might be staking elsewhere - who are you using and how much do you keep?

Not law related but thought this group of people may be able to help. I’m considering getting a “wearable” ring. I have health anxiety (I regularly convince myself I’m having a heart attack) and overall need a push to live a healthier life. Do I need an oura ring? What is the best alternative for a newbie? Any experience with whether it’ll just make my health anxiety worse? Any thoughts appreciated 🫠

Currently have an Amex Platinum, Amex Gold, and Capital One Venture X (only used for my side business). Thinking of cancelling the Gold as they don’t honor the corporate membership fee discount anymore. Any thoughts on good cards to get to replace? Do a decent amount of outside dining and domestic flying, was thinking either the United Club card or Sapphire Reserve but curious to get some perspectives here.

What's your favorite offline or online store to get dainty jewellery? I put no effort into looking good when I go to work because I have to wear my scrubs, but I'm starting to realise I don't have to completely give up on the joy I feel when I'm a girly-girl. And if I do, that's going to be me all my life because this career is definitely staying. Hoping for some good recommendations :)

What kind of jewellery are you wearing to work? I keep it simple and just wear my wedding and engagement ring, but I'd like ideas to add just a little more to my daily look. I genuinely enjoy wearing jewellery and I'm starting to realize that most of my life is going to be spent in my office... might as well dress up a little for work :). Can't wait to hear your ideas!

It's really hard to tell the difference between an entitled person and a person who is just good at advocating for themselves and for their needs. I have to admit that some candidates who talk as if them getting the role is them doing the company a favor don't always get a green flag from me. Could I be hurting my chances at finding gems by judging their assertiveness wrongly?

Are any of you prohibited from wearing any kind of jewelry at your job? I’m thinking for ex, someone who oersted machinery or equipment might be discouraged from wearing jewelry. On the other hand, someone at a clothing store might be *encouraged * to wear it (especially if it’s sold on the store) Where do things land at your place of employment regarding this?
