Chubb is moving to a new office and asking employees to bring the keyboards/mice they were given to new office. They are acting like i was given a brand new keyboard/mouse which both were used when i onboarded. Now at the new office i need reserve a desk where i can’t leave anything at. I’m expected to remove my keyboard/mouse every day where i store in a locker that i also have to reserve every day. This all makes me feel so temporary and not valued. They call it purpose driven workspaces.
In 2024, Dollar General terminated me over alleged drawer shortages I didn’t handle. They claimed my drawer was 50 off when I used it for half the day and didn’t count it. No warnings were given ever for any money handling issue. This is violating company policy of 2 warnings before termination if short over 10 dollars. I’m unsure how this is legal under NY at-will employment because a lawyer said NY is a fire at will state? The company policy should be followed and should be a legal issue?
I'm trying to find a part-time, work-from-home bookkeeping position but have only Sage 50 experience with today's programs. Yet, I have had 40 years of full-cycle bookkeeping and worked with numerous accounting programs. Is there anyone out there that knows how I can access Quick-Books online/desktop, and the others currently being used without having to pay a hefty price? I'm looking for something that is interactive with actual practice and not just watching videos. Thanks everyone in advance.
I was pulled out of class regularly for workbooks and arts and crafts as a kid, When I was in 3rd grade many years ago, I remember I was frequently pulled out of class by some kind of support staff woman (notably not a teacher, I think she worked at multiple schools and may have a counselor?) for one on one sessions in a small room. Most of what I remember is doing simple workbooks, and doing arts and crafts, The workbooks also felt more fun than educational. Anyone know what the program was?
So I forgot my store keys at home last week and we have an extra set from a supervisor that recently left us and I used them for that day. The next day I put them in my desk drawer because I didn’t have time to put them back. Well today I made the same mistake and went into my drawer to get them and they were missing. Should I say something to my SM about going through my drawers because they ended up being put back and I know it was him
When designing instruction manuals or product catalogs, typography hierarchy is everything. A clean, minimal layout with the right grid system doesn't just look good—it saves the client hours of customer support time. As a Print Designer, my favorite part of the process is preparing that flawless CMYK, PDF/X file. Designers here, what’s your favorite tool for layout—InDesign or Illustrator?
Any office appropriate stocking stuffer ideas? I’m looking to get my team gift cards and some stocking stuffers as a thank you for their hard work this year, though most are very health-conscious and I feel they would not enjoy the typical candy or cookies. What are items you would actually enjoy getting and would make you feel appreciated? Open to all ideas and thank you in advance!
What is a workplace culture item that drives you nuts? My hot take is I can't stand collections for gift cards for weddings, births, birthdays, etc. Half the time I barely know the person or don't work with them but still feel obligated to give. If I was close enough to them to give them something I would just do it on my own.

Do you decorate your office/workspace at work? I haven’t in the past, but I’m embracing the idea. I wanna do a theme, but can’t fully decide. I have zero windows anywhere so I’m looking at some beach front tapestries or a cityscape. Not sure though. I get in over my head about what’s professional
