Is it worth making a switch to Microsoft? Offer from MSFT for Principal Data Scientist (L65) in Raleigh, NC Offer Base - $190K Bonus - 20% RSU - $160K (over 4 years) TC = $268K My current TC - Base - $195K Bonus - 7% Stock - $25K per year TC = $233K The offer is final after I was able to increase the base by a bit and RSU a bit. Is it worth to make a move for this increase? I have been at my current company for 10+ years.

Something funny happened at work earlier in the week, I wore an expensive perfume that I really love to work, but the funny thing is that HR called my attention that someone complained about it to him. Am I not able to have a small joy when going into the office? Do you think I should stop wearing the perfume to work? What will you do if you were in my shoes?

      Jobs in Retail & Hospitality

      Store Leader
      4mo

One of the employees in our store who has been at the same retail store for 10 years and just got a 90‑cent raise in his review. I feel so disappointed that I'm in a position where I can say something, but nothing I say has any power He told them to keep the raise, and I think that was a power move. Do other store leads feel helpless like this?

Currently at a T3, found out today I passed Power Day at Capital One for a Director level Product Management role. Not sure on the exact role yet, but my recruiter seemed to think there’s a lot of activity and there won’t be an issue placing me in the next 4-6 weeks. Anyone else made the jump? Any insights on Product at C1?

How do you feel about about the erosion of your foreign Purchasing Power in the last 12-36 months? USD to EUR hit a high of 1.03 in September of 22 and has fallen to 0.83 in just over three years. Similar picture for another currency: USD to THB hit a high of 38.01 in Oct of 22 and is now trading at 30.92.

So, I’m sitting in the quiet cubicle zone, and the VP of Finance suddenly gasps. She turns her monitor around to her analyst and whispers, "He didn't just hardcode the totals... he used a calculator and typed them in manually." The look of pure, unadulterated horror on her face will haunt me forever.

How do you hedge currency parity fluctuations over time as part of your FIRE (in case you plan to retire in another country)? I plan to retire in Spain (wife is from there) but USD/EUR has taken a tough hit in the last 1-2 years. We saw our EUR-based NW decrease by ~10% due to that. Tips?
