Company went through a reorg 9 months ago. I was able to barely make it through, and now they're undergoing a merger where my role will likely be impacted. They haven't announced anything yet in terms of what the new structure is. For those of you who went through a merger, what was the timeline like? When did you know if your role would be impacted? Did they make both companies employees interview to keep their positions? Feeling like i should start applying elsewhere incase.

Evaluating leaving a brand name F500 Corporate Strategy team at the senior consultant level for a strategy manager role. Comp increase is from $128k to $170k TC ($20k bonus) with 5 YOE. The new company is a PE backed industrials co which is reputable within its niche. Con is leaving LCOL city with lots of friends and family to starting over to a far away city with a 10% COL increase Any advice? Current gig is a dead end role with no path to promotion in sight other than moving internally.

When I was looking through old news articles, I was reminded about this Verizon-Frontier merger. I am personally hoping this isn't bad news for the employees, because I have many friends that still work for this company. So my question is how do you feel about mergers and what are ways to survive one if you get laid off? https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/mergers-and-acquisitions/verizon-gets-final-california-approval-to-secure-9-6-billion-frontier-deal/ar-AA1UiNh6?ocid=BingNewsVerp

As someone who has been out of the agency world for more than a decade, I’m really confused about the IPG/Omnicom merger. I work for a fortune 50 company and we are increasingly moving to smaller independent agencies because we’re getting direct access to top talent (vs layers of junior staff) for less money. Who is this model supposed to serve???

Have any of you dealt with a merger? I think my company is in talks with another and they plan to merge. I'm not sure, but if it does happen, I foresee a huge layoff and a whole lot of changes. Does anyone here have experience with this? It'd be very helpful to know about some of the less obvious changes that might come about, so I can be mentally prepared.

Think I'm going to get offered a high paying role $200k+ with a 25% bonus. The catch: the company was just acquired. In a year the brand might cease to exist but will be part of a new, larger company. In my experience mergers result in huge layoffs and high paying roles from the company that were inherited in the acquisition are the first to go. I'm bummed.

Omnicom and IPG folks: if you’re comfortable sharing, would appreciate any intel from the inside. What have been the impacts at your agencies so far? It’s hard to gauge a sense of what the specific effects of the merger are in Canada, what kind of talent will be entering the already fraught job market here, etc. Thanks.

Anyone who has been through a merger before, I’d love to hear your takes on what the right things to do are while it’s pending. We’re going through this right now and I’m not sure if I should stick around and risk being let go or try to jump early but then be caught in what seems to be a pretty rough job market?

Everyone is negative about the Omnicom-IPG merger, but don’t they realize it’s a strategic opportunity to streamline operational synergies and leverage integrated data ecosystems for enhanced client-centric delivery at scale? That’s what this industry REALLY needs.
