I have an offer at med size pubco. ~$250k base, 25% cash bonus and mid 5 figures of standard vesting RSUs. I am also mid process with a pre-IPO private tech co with a $400k base salary potentially and $250k RSUs (which could ultimately be worth nothing). Private co is full remote and pubco is 4 days in office but sounds flexible (15 min commute). Private co sounds riskier, but better comp and potentially more upside if the gamble pays off. Offer check - Securities Counsel at a pubco. $220k + 20% cash bonus + $45k in stock with a 33% vest over 3 years (refreshes annually). Current salary (same role at a different pubco) is $225k + 20% cash bonus (no equity). Both companies' stocks have not performed that great (both down substantially) over the last few years, if that means anything. Anything to try negotiating?

Is this ballpark reasonable or short given the level/responsibility? ChatGPT is giving me numbers like 2.5M equity and $600k cash and portco comps are harder to come by.
