      Federal, Government, and Public Sector

      Senior Manager
      1w

Renewables PM from private sector, recently in the federal contracting space and looking to make a leap in pay. 18 years experience, 11 years of that as environmental engineering PM and senior solar PM. Remote. New to the federal contracting arena. What’s the best way to leverage my pay to make $200k or above? I’m currently salary only with minor bonus each year. Could shift into business development space, go look at roles with large solar developers, or lean into federal. Any advice?

After almost 4 years as a solar system designer 🌞 and 2 years as a team leader, I’m finding it challenging to secure a long-term position in the same role, especially one that fully utilizes PV*SOL. I’d love to hear from the community: how would you approach this situation? Where are the best places to look for remote opportunities in solar system design, and do you think it’s worth continuing to search in this field? Any advice or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated! ⚡

      Finance

      Client Advisor
      4mo

First post on here, was just wondering if anyone could share some advice or experiences they may have in this subject. So I’m on a FTC as a client advisor for a government company, now while I am on the finance side of things it’s not a “finance” job on paper. I personally think my CV looks good and has a decent bit of experience as being 20 it’s been a journey to get experience. I’m wondering what the best way to get my foot in the door is for companies such as Lloyds etc . Many thanks

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Solar Installer
      8mo

Hi, Solar is the new renewable thing out there , but since I live in a small town it’s hard to find a job in that same field. I am on unemployment right now but I’m open to suggestions and advice in how I can get back into the oilfield. In the past I was a oilfield roustabout foreman and pipeline foreman. I also worked as an Ironworker structure, rigger. I have many trades in the Construction & industry. I’m not only a team player but I also know that safety comes first in a workplace.

Hey folks I have been working as a FT employee all my career(around 10 years), Now I am looking switching on to contractual roles for some work flexibility. So I wanted to know what factors to keep in my mind before I switch to contractual roles? How should I come up with per hour rate so that I am atleast at par with FTE salary since I know there are benefits that contractual role won't get that FT employees get? Any other advices/learnings will also be appreciated.

      Salary Negotiations

      Logistics Operations Associate

Between 1 FT and 1 PT job I make $58,500 before taxes. My FT job pays $42,500 before taxes and my hourly PT job made $16k+ after taxes last year. I am looking at a new job opportunity for a FT position doing similar tasks as my current FT job and their starting pay offer is $51k annually. I would lose significant PT income with this new job’s schedule. How do I go about negotiating a higher starting pay to offset this income difference with the loss of hours at my PT job?

What's a contractor role like at Salesforce right now? I was offered a 8 month contract, potential to FTE role for SF and need to make a decision within the next week to take it or not. It's a great role with a solid team, but not sure how stable it is considering FT isn't guaranteed. Are contractors usually extended a FT opportunity based on performance? Any perks that contractors get or are they singled out from office-access, employee events, benefits, etc.?

With over four years of comprehensive experience in FTTH/HFC (OSP) engineering and deployment, I have acquired dual expertise: Mastery of ODN architecture, route optimisation, optical balance calculations and use of specialised GIS tools (SmallWorld). Deployment management (GVA, OTI), team coordination and compliance validation (DOE implementation). I am actively seeking a position as an FTTH Designer/Project Manager to further capitalise on this experience.

I need some advice career wise. I was recently let go gotta love "at will". Anyway I want to do somebody different. I've had the worst luck as an APM/PM. I was all for project management but after this last job, it's time I broaden my field. I just need some recommendations on other fields I can pursue. Ive been doing solar for the past couple years and I'm done with it.
