The news we’ve all been waiting for… design software company Figma filed for an IPO with plans to trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol “FIG.” Figma’s Q1 revenue increased 46% to $228.2 million (compared to $156.2M YoY) with a net income of $44.9 million. This is one stock I will be buying day 1. What do you think? Any long-term concerns with figma?

I've spent the last few years focusing on visual design, posters, branding concepts, and social media campaigns. Recently, I've noticed that many design jobs are asking for Figma skills, even for roles that traditionally focused on Photoshop and Illustrator. For designers who started with graphic design and visual communication rather than UI/UX, how important is Figma in 2026?

I finally hit six figures… and I still feel broke. Between $2,300/month rent, groceries, student loans, and the cost of just existing, I barely feel different than when I made $70k. I always thought hitting $100k would feel like a milestone, but instead it just feels like survival with a nicer coffee habit. I’m proud of the number, but also a little disillusioned. Is six figures even meaningful anymore, or has the bar moved that much?

In 2018, I completed my first web design project. It was the one that opened the door to my journey in web design and UI/UX design. Although the result was still basic, it became the starting point of my growth in this field. I started by learning everything on my own using simple tools and now I’m confident working with Figma and applying modern UI/UX design principles in every project.

I don’t have a giant investment account and still have about 25% in cash, buying when it makes sense. Today bought Puma USA on OTC symbol PMMAF but only a few thousand dollars. Their stock took a hit since January by about 50% but have a good new CEO and I like their products. This is not a recommendation - just sharing. Still low single digits of the total so not worried.

Just about every job opening I’ve seen lately wants the candidate to know Figma. I have had agency jobs the last 15 years and never had to learn this. Is it the norm now? I’ve used Sketch once or twice and photoshop since the late ‘90s (yes I am relatively ancient). Should be easy to learn right?

I’ve been watching this Figma IPO today and feel like I’m gonna be kicking myself for not exercising my options from the company I was just with. 😭 probably wouldn’t be as big of an IPO but the potential would be there for something near the neighborhood. And probably not in play for at least several more years.

Need assistance. A few years ago a mutual fund rep gave me a chart. It traced a $1 investment to present. It had a bit of history, president in the office etc. it was a graph with different asset classes, small cap, large, cash etc. Any chance anyone remembers? It’s not JP Morgan.

Best places/ways to learn figma? Any teaching programs or places that teach it? Interested in expanding skills but would like a human and not a YouTube video on figma basics.
