Hi, Solar is the new renewable thing out there , but since I live in a small town it’s hard to find a job in that same field. I am on unemployment right now but I’m open to suggestions and advice in how I can get back into the oilfield. In the past I was a oilfield roustabout foreman and pipeline foreman. I also worked as an Ironworker structure, rigger. I have many trades in the Construction & industry. I’m not only a team player but I also know that safety comes first in a workplace.

I’m starting a new job at a new company next Monday as a first time manager. I’m a very seasoned (20 year) IT Services Project Manager of complex projects. Plenty of experience managing dotted line resources as an individual contributor, but this will be my first time with direct reports. It’s a small team of PM’s managing low complexity contract projects. Experience level of the team is junior (Project Coordinator) to entry level Project Manager. Looking for any words of advice from the group!

Renewables PM from private sector, recently in the federal contracting space and looking to make a leap in pay. 18 years experience, 11 years of that as environmental engineering PM and senior solar PM. Remote. New to the federal contracting arena. What’s the best way to leverage my pay to make $200k or above? I’m currently salary only with minor bonus each year. Could shift into business development space, go look at roles with large solar developers, or lean into federal. Any advice?

I’ve been thinking a lot about the renewable energy sector, particularly solar farms and installers, and I’m curious about everyone’s perspective. With government funding cuts, do you think it’s still a good time to pursue a startup in this industry? My sense is that the growing energy demands from AI and other emerging technologies could create significant opportunities despite the policy shifts.

I always do well with the introductory interview and am invited back for the panel interview with about four people. My group interviews have not resulted in an offer. I am a top candidate for a great position. This second meeting will include an assignment that must be completed an hour before to the panel interview. Has anyone experienced this type of panel interview with an assignment? Please share.

Any tips for stepping into a first GC role? I’ve been thinking about what it takes to transition into a first General Counsel role. It seems like a big shift — from execution to leadership, strategy, and managing expectations across the business. I need some advice career wise. I was recently let go gotta love "at will". Anyway I want to do somebody different. I've had the worst luck as an APM/PM. I was all for project management but after this last job, it's time I broaden my field. I just need some recommendations on other fields I can pursue.
