For consultants who travel to different firm offices in different cities, what’s your firm’s process for getting access to a physical location? Slalom’s process asks me to find an office’s operations manager on SharePoint and request access individually, to each office, for each trip. I think this is archaic and that we should trust the people we employ, but I’m curious on how other firms do it. Do you get blanket access to company offices in your country? Region? Similar request process?

I am starting my MBA program this fall and would like to know more about culture, office practice/industry, and travel time at the MBB, S&, or EY-P offices in New York. Mass layoffs. Do I leave? Mass layoffs at you know what company. I feel like a sitting duck. I’m one of the few that survived in my sector. My manager was fired. Me and all other rep report directly to the area VP for the time being. Do I need to just leave while I have the chance? I’m good at selling what I sell, the upwards mobility is great at normal times. But also those times could be gone.

Has anyone pivoted out of human capital consulting into generalist type of consulting where you’re across industries/practices or even into tech (project/biz strategy-focus). Feeling pigeonholed and feeling a want to exit. For context I’m an associate consultant. Any advice? Thank you!

How much weight do people actually put on fund size when making a move? I’m at a $500M fund now and interviewing at a smaller shop with a tighter team and more hands-on work. Everyone says “go where you’ll learn the most,” but comp and carry aren’t small trade-offs.

Is there like a weightage system to the 3 final round interviews at McKinsey? On the case studies, I feel like I aced one, was average in one and absolutely bombed one. PEI for all 3 were great. Just wanted to know if anyone has an idea on how the evaluation works.
