      Accounting

I'm trying to find a part-time, work-from-home bookkeeping position but have only Sage 50 experience with today's programs. Yet, I have had 40 years of full-cycle bookkeeping and worked with numerous accounting programs. Is there anyone out there that knows how I can access Quick-Books online/desktop, and the others currently being used without having to pay a hefty price? I'm looking for something that is interactive with actual practice and not just watching videos. Thanks everyone in advance.

I worked as a trainer for a trucking company. I facilitated in-class training and managed continuous learning by creating PPTs and uploading MP4 videos to an LMS. I do not have formal training in instructional design or a college degree, but want to pursue this career. I'm working on learning Articulate and upskilling with other multi media and editing tools, and brushing up on learning methodologies. My concern is the lack of the degree. I have 6+ years experience, but will that be enough?

I have an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education (very specific) but so badly want to do something else WITHOUT losing my time and more money to student debt. How on earth does one find something, such as proofreading or editing, without a degree? It’s the Sophie’s Choice of life- continuing working for something meaningful and I love but make 0 dollars doing it or do something a bit less important and make more money?

When wanting to go back to what you went to school to study to do, do we start all over at the bottom or where we stopped at? Do we go back to ‘Entry level’ and it’s entry level pay too? Starting over, Starting fresh in a new way, a new plan. But I don’t have a real plan and haven’t counted the cost either. I just know, what Im doing now is not enough. Ugh 😑. What did you do or did you?

Hello, I'm an EE of 10+ years. We have a project coming up that'll need grad-level numerical methods and electrodynamics. The problem is I have zero time to get another degree, so I'm looking for ways to quickly get up to speed. I found notes online, but I really want to interact with teachers and classmates. Have you found sources you'd recommend for interactive, non-degree courses?

I'm looking to go back to school as I never finisged a 4-year degree (I got lucky with my work experience); are there any schools out there with software QA-oriented degrees available online? My local one had a Minor program in Systems Testing but they're cutting it, apparently. I apologize if this isn't the bowl for this, but it seemed like the most relevant one!

Friday career advice tip for students. Don't underestimate the power of good grades and studying hard. You'll internalize the content better. My husband makes fun of me because he thinks I studied too hard in school and that I cared too much about getting the A. But I make fun of him because now I make more 🤷‍♀️

Okay everyone! I have to take my pre licensing course. I have very limited availability as my husband works nights and I have a small child so I’m not sure I will be able to do nights and weekends will be tough as well. Is the online course easy or is it worth trying to fit it in in person?

Has anyone here pursued higher studies while holding on to their full-time job? I'm considering getting a master's soon, and I want to get an account of what life looks like when you do this, and what the changes REALLY are. I can imagine most of them, but I'm sure I'm missing some. Share away!
