Alright, question for the financially savey consultants out there. My friend has a small business and has been accumulating cash in a money market account (50k+ at this point). He wants to start investing and spoke to a financial advisor who would charge 1.4% each year. This seemed high to me. I mentioned just dollar costing into ETFs (.... which probably made little sense). Anybody here have a good resource for succinctly explaining concepts/ helping him make these choices?

Hi everyone 😊 I just wanted to introduce myself and share what I do, in case it helps someone here. I spend my time educating people on practical money topics like how to get out of debt faster, reduce taxes legally, and make their money work harder (even small amounts). No selling — just real-life financial education that most of us were never taught. If anyone is interested in learning or even helping others with this kind of knowledge in the future, feel free to comment or message me.

I love my company and the people I work with but as prices keep going up my wage has not really in the 8 years I have been there. My family has been getting at me to look for something that pays more for years. I never really intended to go into financial field I like the details aspect of it but would also love to get something more creative. I'm finally accepting to look for something else but also not sure what to look for or how best way to put myself out there. Suggestions?

Hello everyone. Aware this question might be partially antagonistic to the group purpose, but have you come across the book “Die with zero”? What are your views on it? I am facing some internal debate on how to approach money spend/planning and I am curious to understand others FIREs perspectives. Thank you!

My husband and I were comparing notes and with a few solid data points around time and cost savings, we’ve both been able to secure promotions with a > 20% raise in the last two years. What data or benchmarks have you found most convincing when negotiating pay? How do you prove value without direct financial impact?

I’ve been reflecting on how I picked up money habits over time, mostly through experience, a few mistakes, and learning as I went. It definitely wasn’t something I was formally taught, I paid to learn and life experience also. How did you learn about finance, investing, or managing money?

Hi all at what point do you look at getting a financial planner or someone to help allocate and better plan family money ? Asking as someone who didn’t have access to such tools growing up and want to make sure I have the right things in place and I’m sure there’s a professional out there that can help

Best beginner advice for finances? I grew up with financially illiterate parents and also am pretty risk averse. I don’t have debt, have worked for 4 years so have a good 401k start but couldn’t trade on stocks prior. I have savings in a Marcus and a good amount in my checking.
