Quite freaked out by AI. I work at a consulting firm where I do various thought leadership activities for the firm's consultants & management. I have seen first hand how AI is killing web design jobs, email marketing, and is getting more intuitive. There are also tools from WPP that are creating B+ standard content for various PR formats. While not perfect - my belief is these tools could eradicate several jobs over the next year or two, to much smaller teams. My q: where do we go from here

So I’ve been working on this thing I call Nyrixn. It’s kinda my own take on what AI could be if it actually felt more human, not just another voice assistant reading off facts. I don’t code, not do I have any type of tech degree....I’m more on the idea and design side of it all. Just trying to figure out where someone like me fits in the AI space without pretending to be something I’m not. I’ve got the drive, just need to find the door. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I can’t count on my work for the growth / development so I want to do my own musings… I love learning , SO …any content , courses (free or not free), or other resources you’ve been looking at that’s been helping refine skills (apart from learning by doing?) *based in Canada. With AI making insane leaps recently (especially Claude) has anyone thought about investing or opening other businesses? A lot of people may laugh at the concept of trying to do something AI can’t take, but as someone who’s early career and has seen the effects of AI on my friends who got laid off, it makes me curious about other areas to possibly look into as someone who’s business minded. I work as a Data Engineer, and tbh AI can easily wipe away what I do.

Will “AI efficiencies” finally force agencies to change how they bill? We’re reliant on billable hours, and if AI actually delivers what it promises and increases efficiencies that means there’s going to be fewer hours to bill. Lay off however many people you want, but the agency is still going to be billing fewer hours and not making as much money. Does any shop have a robust enough new business model to match that? Is there even that much work out there?

Just out of curiosity, what type of AI tools or training have some of you finance professionals done or heard of that you have found useful to optimize any of your reporting or monthly/quarterly workflow tasks. I work in defense, so obviously we have special sensitivity regarding 3rd party tools...so open-sourced things like chatgpt are a no-go. Just kinda curious if there are any good courses or tools anyone found helpful to understand how AI can help us...

What are the online AI related courses / knowledge hubs you would recommend for senior marketing professionals? My list so far: OpenAI Academy Anthropic Academy (both are solid basic options) Google prompting guide as rock solid structural understanding Last Week in AI for recent tools Julian Cole things Other than the last one neither are ad focused, only OpenAI has a modulore or two. Any tip?

Anyone else planning to study up this holiday break? I’m eager to learn more about ai architecture (RAG, MLP, pipelines) and agentic from a business lens (where/when if ever does it make sense today, how are they built in terms of tools, APIs, etc, and how to size a build) Anyone have recommendations on courses to take? Across sectors firms are getting accused of using AI “inappropriately”. Last week FreightWaves a data and media company that calls themselves, “The Bloomberg of Freight” was accused using AI to write articles after a handful of journalists exited from their media division. Deloitte is being accused of using AI to create reports after a handful of erroneous citations were found.
