I was last job seeking around 2015-2016. It was alot of work and very manual. This time, with AI (ChatGPT], it’s much easier, but the rejection level is the same. I use CGPT for everything except tracking applications. I use Teal for that. I vet job descriptions (JDs) with CGTP, I have it draft my resumes and cover letters. I of course review and edit them myself, but it makes the application process so much easier as well as helping to fill out forms. What do you use AI for in this process?

I got laid off from a large AV integrator recently because the division and I was in got cut and everyone in that group was let go without any regard to performance. I've been looking for 3 months and have 30+ years of industry experience with 15 years of design engineering experience. I am having a hard time getting past the AI bots that read my resume and send an automatic rejection before a human even looks at my application. Any advice? Are there any integrators hiring design engineers?

If you are going to use AI to help you with your cover letter, make sure you read it over and make any changes before you submit the resume and cover letter. I have heard of people not bothering to put in the company name, a salary, etc. and just left when AI had the brackets for you to fill in the information plus I just had someone tell me that they saw where they copied and pasted the whole AI screen they had even AI asking them what steps they wanted AI to take next.

Just out of curiosity, what type of AI tools or training have some of you finance professionals done or heard of that you have found useful to optimize any of your reporting or monthly/quarterly workflow tasks. I work in defense, so obviously we have special sensitivity regarding 3rd party tools...so open-sourced things like chatgpt are a no-go. Just kinda curious if there are any good courses or tools anyone found helpful to understand how AI can help us...

I applied to a job that had me attest that I did not use any AI in creating my resume or cover letter! I wonder if spellcheck and grammar check into those categories ! Anyways, they invited me to an interview with an AI agent. Ironic, isn’t it? Has anybody ever interviewed with an AI agent? I just want to state that if you're one of those people who has AI write all of your work emails AND then you use another AI plugin to add typos to those emails so it looks like a human wrote them, you're a sociopath and don't belong in society. Joking - not joking, lol
