Friends! If you’re in the market for a great employer, Glassdoor just dropped its second annual Best Led Companies list. This list is the cheeky sister to Best Places to Work, but this one is where we determine best in class leadership teams (and managers!) based on employee reviews. We’ve got Nvidia 💻, In N Out Burger 🍔 and Mathworks 📈 in our top 3… check out what makes them great AND take a gander at the full list. I’ll drop it in the comments.

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Penetration Tester

Currently attempting to figure out what job to pivot to from an Offensive Security role. I've been at my first job doing Offensive Security Consulting for almost 5 years now and I'm looking to pivot out. Always been interested in the blue team side (malware analysis/threat intelligence/forensics) but don't have the experience there. Also always thought network engineering seemed pretty interesting as I have a decently sized HomeLab. Open to any advice or opportunities in the community!!!

      Cybersecurity Engineer

The IT is full of people who have no idea how people do the tech. Except of some companies, I am frustrated that 8 out of 10 people who interviewed me had no idea about what cybersecurity is, what we actually do, what does the job require and how to do the interviews. As a cybersecurity engineer, I genuinely believe that some companies deserve to get hacked because of having those people without any idea about the job itself and taking decisions, affecting career and life of others.

      Jobs in Retail & Hospitality

      Manager

I started where many of those posts come from. Long shifts, small pay, big doubts. I spent years in retail and hospitality wondering if growth was even real or just a buzzword managers used. What changed wasn’t luck. It was noticing gaps, training new hires, fixing small problems before anyone asked. One day I wasn’t just working the floor, I was leading it. Growth didn’t arrive loud. It showed up quietly, shift by shift, until I finally believed I was worth more.

I'm not from a fancy university. Never had a job. Just curiosity, Kali Linux, and a second-hand laptop. I applied for a cybersecurity internship at Hack The Box. Got rejected, but built a lab on Parrot OS, practiced with Metasploit, Evilginx2, Wireshark, Nmap, ran phishing simulations, and automated OSINT. You don’t need a job to be a hacker—just proof, hunger, and discipline. I’ll be back—stronger, sharper, and self-made. 💻⚡ #Cybersecurity #selftought

      Security Architect
      3w

Hey Friends, I have been currently working as a Security Architect for a fortune 200 company for the past six year in the state of Utah. I have 10 years of overall cyber security experience in the IoT and Utilities industries but can't seem to get an accurate number on what is a competitive salary. Hoping to find resources and insight in the matter to be better prepared for job interviews. Thank you!

Cyber career pivot post: 8 years of experience in GRC/TPRM but bored out of my mind. Pay and WLB are good but I’m just over it. Anyone who can share their story on a successful career pivot within cybersecurity? I’m drawn to what I hope to be more engaging roles around awareness and training. Is this even true or are these roles just consisting of sending out phishing tests? Thanks in advance!

It’s almost review and raise time. It’s always 3%. Any tips on getting more. I think it’s crazy that someone with average and decent numbers who does the bare minimum gets 3% and I, who goes above and beyond, trains new hires and helps be a mentor to an under 2 year colleague gets 3%. Any tips would be appreciated.

MBBers who got into top business schools (M7) and did the GRE, what were your scores? Just got a 323 (162V/161Q) after just ten days of studying, as I'm too preoccupied with work. Is it worth retaking? Have a strong application otherwise (top bracket at my MBB, strong undergrad extracurriculars, high GPA.)
