Hello everyone, I am calling on the paralegal community for a little help. I am a person who has been incarcerated. During my incarceration I started to study criminal law. I have filed and won several cases in the State of Wisconsin. The extent of my knowledge revolves around Sentence Modification, Statute 974.06 motions and State Habeas motions. I also have done a certification program via correspondence course. I am releasing soon and would like to pursue a career as a paralegal. Help!

I qualified as Barrister and solicitor in Nigeria in May, 2007. Obtained a master in property law in 2016. Came over to England to commence a doctoral research in International Arbitration and oil and gas law at University of hull. But I suspended it for lack of funds, hoping to continue later. From 2010, I have experience in conveyancing law, property law, legal drafting, compliance, real estate development law and project financing. What do I do to secure employment as paralegal officer?

Paraprofessional dedicated to special education for the previous eight years. Seeking employment to support immigrants and refugees during these difficult times. My degree is in Human Services. I did my internship at Neighborhood House and served as the resource coordinator. Though language could have been a barrier, I found the tools necessary to assist the clients through kindness and compassion. I hope to offer a wide-open circle where all feel welcome and they can find hope and trust.

Transitioning my experience into a formal paralegal role and would value insight from others who have done the same. I bring 13+ years of hands-on litigation experience in civil and family law, including drafting, discovery, case management, and e-filing (Odyssey), along with court-appointed Guardian/Conservator work. Currently pursuing an A.S. in Paralegal Studies and looking to align my background within a law firm setting. What helped you bridge that transition most effectively?

Litigation paralegal with 13+ years of hands-on experience in civil and family law. Skilled in drafting pleadings and discovery, case management, e-filing (Odyssey), and organizing and summarizing case materials. Currently pursuing an A.S. in Paralegal Studies with exposure to Relativity. Open to litigation, legal support, and case management roles in the Twin Cities. Recruiters: based on my background, which firms or practice areas are most in demand right now?

      Litigation Paralegal

I have been a litigation paralegal for over 20 years, but I also have extensive experience in process improvement, sops, and project management. I've been trying to find more search terms that encompass these skills as they are something I truly enjoy. I've tried legal ops, but a lot of those roles come back with SEC filings and Board assistance, which is not something I have experience in. Any other suggestions on search terms that might be good for to try?

I'm older with a long history including a criminal conviction, but also was a newspaper reporter/editor and private investigator for many years before my bad decisions. I completed my obligations to the state and went back to college to get a paralegal certificate. I'm looking for work as a paralegal for a firm or attorney focused on criminal defense, preferably in northern Michigan and/or remote. Any suggestions or resources you guys would recommend?

I am finishing up my degree in Advanced Paralegal Studies and will be finished in July 2026. I have applied to a handful of jobs with very little response from potential employers. Many paralegal jobs, even entry-level as advertised, are looking for experience. Perhaps mentioning what I have knowledge of from my studies is acceptable as a reply? I'm feeling frustrated to not have any interviews lined up. Help!

I have unfortunately been put on a PIP. I’m 16 weeks pregnant and struggled a lot the past months with sickness and very low morale. I found myself making mistakes and missing details. Plan is to resign while on maternity ( UK based so I get a year out) as I don’t think I have a future here anymore. At the moment I’m struggling mentally so bad. Not much point to this just a rant to you fellow parents
