I said I would apply for a position at Liberty Mutual since I keep getting rejected from all of the administrative & HR jobs I keep applying for. However, I woke up to a rejection email today for a Sales Representative, Inbound position I applied for yesterday. I would have had the opportunity to get licensed in this position. I have sales & customer service experience so wtf was the reason for me getting rejected this time?? Im over this BS. Who is getting hired anymore?? This is insane (CONTD)

Can anyone explain the interview process for Silver Point Capital or other Connecticut based hedge funds? I want to understand the process once you hit the background check and how long it typically takes? Do I need my latest transcript? They inquired about my SAT score but I’m wonder if need to get the info by mail (2-5 weeks) so that affects timing. Is there a subsequent drug test that would lengthen the process too? Trying to figure out timing and see if it affects my travel.

Cross-post (sorry): Taking vacation in Scotland in Nov. Will hike on the Isle of Skye and do nice dinners in Edinburgh. Any wardrobe suggestions for for men? Google+blogs say layering, but I’m specifically looking to understand the WAY Scottish people layer (e.g. PNW layers with collared flannels; in the Midwest it’s Carhartt hoodies; NE loves fisherman sweaters). And if you have thoughts on specific footwear I’d greatly appreciate it (looking at Hunter Chelsea boots).

I was shopping over the weekend at saw a Kendra Scott store that had a huge line out the front and a man dressed up as a gold Santa handing out snacks in the line. I loved the idea of taking an iconic Christmas symbol like Santa and branding it in all gold. What other brands are doing a good job standing out in the sea of sameness that can be the holidays?

Wanting to go to Scotland next year in April or May for about 10 days. I love scotch, so I would like to visit some niche/local distilleries. Any advice on where to go? How to plan? Etc? Wife isn't a big drinker and hates scotch, so if it lines up with some more touristy things, that is probably a happy medium.

In discussion with North Highland for a Senior consultant role. Does anyone know if they’d offer a sign on bonus? Not sure if, considering the current market, they wouldn’t need to. Role would be about $120k for reference.

How valuable is it to make United Silver or Gold tier status? Are upgrades to even Premium Economy a common occurrence, or are there just too many people with higher tier that take up all free upgrades before you can?
