Junior Associate I Work With / Supervise Regularly Sent Me A Hinge Like. I am trying to decide between (i) ignoring and pretending like it never happened and (ii) acknowledging it in person privately but saying something to her like “saw your Hinge like, very funny” and then changing the subject to something work related (basically, assuming it was not serious and then hoping that’s the end of it). She included a comment, so there’s no way to play it off as a mindless swipe. Thoughts?

How do you prioritize your health when the culture clearly doesn’t? My company says they care about employee wellness, but I haven’t had a real lunch break in weeks. I eat leftovers cold, standing up, between Zoom calls... once it was 3:45pm before I even realized I hadn’t had water all day. We have a Slack channel called #selfcare, but any actual attempt to take a breath is met with eye-rolls or last-minute meeting invites. I want to take better care of myself, but it feels impossible when I’m being praised for burnout and guilted for rest.

Something that gets under my skin is when a Hiring Manager, or anyone, messages me via email or Teams without a greeting first, especially if we haven’t spoken that day. It’s rude not to say “Hello” or “Hi” before making a request or asking a question. How self-centered, disrespectful, and unpleasant. You are chatting with a person, not an answering service or request box. Greet whoever you’re speaking with before asking anything. Does this bother anyone else?

I have seen this play out so many times that when candidates get an offer and then use it to pressure their current employer for a raise. Sometimes it works, but often it just leaves a bad impression with both sides. I have learned it’s better to be upfront about what you want from the start rather than using another company’s offer as leverage. Would you use another offer as leverage to negotiate better pay, or is it too risky? what's your take?

It’s funny just how well our intuition can work. Got a Hinge like from a guy who works at the same small-ish government agency as my bestie’s sister. Cute guy, decent profile, but I just had this hunch… texted her and DING DING DING! he is married. 🤦‍♀️ Welp, now this info along with my screenshots are circulating allll around that office. Enjoy the shitty karma, pal.

Does anyone know if hinge does shadow bans? Ive gotten maybe 4 “likes you” over the past few days and have been maxing out my swipes since the year started. No idea what I could have done because I haven’t been on a date via hinge since October. photos are all recent and prompts are all filled out.

How do yall deal with shaky hands? I'm a notary and sometimes if my blood sugar is low or I have a migraine, my hands shake and it makes my writing kinda messy. Readable but messy. Is this something I shouldn't fuss over? Do yall see not perfect hand writing as unprofessional? i also broke my writing hand and have carpal tunnel so I feel like i cant win lol

18 years in healthcare has given me a front-row seat to how unprepared many families are when serious illness hits. Lately, I’ve been exploring ways to bridge that gap outside of clinical care—especially around financial education tied to terminal, critical, and chronic conditions. It’s been eye-opening. Curious if others in healthcare have come across this space as well.
