      Ad fish in Toronto 🐠

A few weeks ago someone posted a wrongful dismissal case win against King Ursa. Saw this video where the ICA has this new platform, and the very first person speaking is the founder of that agency. Went on the ICA page and he sits on the board of it. How serious is the ICA? They have a platform where you can complain about bad clients and bad pitches, but what about bad agency treatment? And with this case so fresh, I would think twice before putting the head of that agency in an ad. https://www.linkedin.com/posts/institute-of-canadian-agencies_ica-brandsneedmorecanada-canadianscreate-ugcPost-7351301647467282434-s78c?utm_medium=ios_app&rcm=ACoAAAWatQEByJ59K3xAPqMBeKlMZTXxb2YFOB8&utm_source=social_share_send&utm_campaign=copy_link

Leave an ID firm for a V70? I work in the business/commercial practice of a very large ID firm (AmLaw100) doing regulatory work (not directly insurance defense). The current firm has promised to keep growing and giving me their non-ID work if I stay, but I have the opportunity to leave to do litigation at a V70. What should I do? Im concerned about being trapped, and not sure if I should wait it out to find the perfect opportunity or leave now while I have the chance. Second year.

SLC, UT — Commercial Lines Account Manager with 5 years’ experience (often mistaken for 10+). I manage ~200 accounts spanning Small Business, Mid-Market, and flagship clients, with multiple complex lines. My book is approximately $2.6M in premium. CISR-designated, with plans to pursue CIC and CRM. I recently asked for $80K (currently at $63K and feeling under-market). Curious what others in our area are earning and how that aligns with years in the role, designations, and scope of responsibility

Stuck between two ID firms (☹️). Firm one is ID firm that requires four days a week in office and pays 130 BUT have select commercial matters and they said I would help out on the commercial side too. Firm two is pure ID but would pay 140 and it’s only two days a week in office. I’m planning on getting my MBA in a year and a half. I want to take firm two bc don’t have to go in that office as much and I can spend more time with my elderly dog at home, but I am worried that

Has anyone been through the OC&C Strategy Consultants panel interview process before? Would love to hear your thoughts on format, the types of questions being asked afterwards, etc. My understanding is you get a slide deck, have time to review, and then get asked a lot of questions by senior leaders. It's unclear if output is expected at the end of the review/beginning of the panel, if you start off as in a candidate-led interview sharing your approach, etc. Thanks for any insights!

i am an independent adjuster and I really want to get my AIC certification. my employer paid for the course. Now I have 6 days to complete the exam. I have been studying, just not the way I wish I had. Sometimes weeks go by before I get back to it. I also took the exam once back in July-i rushed it and failed. I do know that I was within 3 questions of passing though. I’m terrified I will fail again and will be so embarrassed. Anyone else experience test anxiety on the AIC?

      Interview Tips

      Research Assistant
      8mo

I finally got an interview at an academic institute after months of applying! But I'm concerned regarding it as the application also included a document addressing the KSC. Does the interview sometimes asks questions that were mentioned from the KSC? Do I need to memorise it? I tried my best not to make it perfect or regurgitate the words to make it more authentic, but I sometimes overthink about it, hence me stuffing up. Any advice would be appreciated. :)

Today the GC asked that we meet to go over my IDP so that we can make a plan for me to “step into her role should she leave.” She suggested a 2-3 year lead time on this - I’m currently a 7th year and agree that I’m not ready. Part of me thinks this is a retention carrot as there are changes going on here (mostly good - lots of growth). What would you make of this request? Any advice/experiences?

Care first BCBS people here, Need some help here please. A vendor reached out for contract to hire position and asked for MM/DD of my DOB to submit my initial application. When told I would do it later in process they say it creates a unique id that will be used entire selection process and also after getting hired to submit timesheets. Is it a SCAM? Appreciate any insights. Thankyou
