I KNOW a lot of us are in this boat but I just need to vent. I’ve been actively applying since October 2025 because I KNEW things were shifting at my previous company. I was let go along with many other in Feb. we are now in May I still don’t have any offers. It so frustrating to fill out all these applications for companies that use AI to screen but they tell you in the application to not use AI. Like you can but I can’t? Anywho, I just needed to vent for a moment to some who may understand

Mostly here to vent. I know AI in production has been used sparingly over the last few years when it comes to projects I have been working on. When I say that, I mean it has been used to clean up a shot or throw some VO over a demo for client presentation…but in the last month I am working on three projects where the solve has been using generative AI to produce a lot of content in a short amount of time. This is has been due to poor planning, budget, and client expectations. (Continued below)

Curious if anyone felt the pressure of AI in the field? I want to stay ahead of the curve and I’m also worried about the job security of our industry. I think most of us see the seeds at our companies being planted to eventuality lean heavier into AI. I think supply chain is undervalued at most companies and would look to cut the cost their first. Has anyone looked into AI certifications or degrees? Has anyone been able to integrate AI successfully into their everyday?

Hi folks! Obviously AI is inevitably part of our industry now , and I do want to be levelling up with how it’s used and what I understand. I can’t count on my work for the growth / development so I want to do my own musings… I love learning , SO …any content , courses (free or not free), or other resources you’ve been looking at that’s been helping refine skills (apart from learning by doing?) *based in Canada. Doesn’t need to be AI, just advertising in general !! Happy Holidays!

Anyone else completely burnt out with AI as you feel it may be more evil than good? I’m having a real internal struggle with it and I’m literally in charge of it at the moment. It’s making me want to do an about face and do something completely different. Opening a coffeeshop is my dream but being a single homeowner in Florida that will be difficult. Just really want out of the tech world. I want to make a difference in something that won’t be taken over by AI in the future.

What's everyone's plan for upskilling to stay relevant with AI's impact on SEO? I've been looking for a solid resource that moves beyond the hype. Found this guide on "AI-Augmented SEO" that's actually practical. It focuses on the strategic skills we'll need and includes a pretty tough skill test. Good way to benchmark where you are and what to learn next. Sharing in case it helps anyone else future-proof their role. www.seosiri.com/2025/10/skill-test-ai-seo-guide.html

I keep thinking how AI is going to force alot of people to become entrepreneurs and make money independently. Productivity will improve in every professional services/ administrative job, require fewer people and push people out. Other fields cant support the supply of labor. Our culture has become accustomed to a career tractory or path for so long that I think that correction is going to be incredibly painful. Most of us show up, do a thing, and get paid.

      Interview Tips

Has anyone had to answer how they utilize AI in their work/past jobs when interviewing? I’m prepping for an interview and I’m trying to think of the best way to not make it sound like I think it’s the most unethical tool right now. I’ve never used it for work and highly doubt I ever will. The JD for this role is very vague about it but it seems like the team is really pushing to use it in some way even though it isn’t really defined in the description.

Are parts of your job already being automated? How many here are out of jobs because of AI or got jobs because of AI?

I’ve been reading about how big chains like McDonald’s, Chipotle, and Yum Brands are going all-in on AI. Everything from predicting when fryers will break down to drive-thru voice bots and scheduling tools. On paper, it sounds great. But I can’t help wondering what this means for workers in the long run. Does AI actually make our jobs easier? Would you want AI in your restaurant?
