      Staying Healthy

I am F in my 30s, started strength training 1 year 8 momths ago and got into free weights. Yesterday I deadlifted 100kg which is 1.75 my bodyweight for 3 reps. Just wanted to share this milestone! I am pretty cautious and try not to rush going up in weights but was doing 95kg for reps recently and finally decided to step up :) I train by myself so have to learn everything as I go but really enjoy the training. Every day, as you train, you become stronger than yesterday, step by step :)

      Ask A Recruiter - Healthcare

As a clinician applying to high-pressure specialty roles (e.g. trauma, ICU, ER) after time in demanding clinical environments, I’m more intentional about sustainability and resilience. Do recruiters screen for emotional resilience or stress tolerance in these roles, and how do they assess that during interviews or reference checks? What guidance would you offer candidates on presenting stability and endurance without signaling burnout or vulnerability?

Not sure if the nature of my work has changed or my brain has gotten worse, but over the past years have been mightily struggling to multitask many smaller initiatives and context switch rapidly. I feel overwhelmed, and the mental energy I spend trying to keep on top is disproportionately high compared to my actual output. I wish I could focus on a smaller number of difficult problems, tune out the meetings/pings etc Any others feel the same way? Tips?

      Interview Tips

      Apprentice Electrician
      1mo

Going to do an interview for entry level low voltage electrical technician apprentice. I have a tendency to overthink, give overly-worded responses, and in general present myself in a way unrelated to the nature of the role which is: less talk, more display of mechanical skill. I don't have any prior facility or mastery of mechanical skills but have a strong desire to develop them. How do I convey all this without sounding abstract or "clueless"?

I developed a new habit of talking with ChatGPT about my workouts. I send workout reports, ask for feedback and general questions. Feel like reliance on it is going to far haha. It takes time but also responses seem quite repetitive, the same points over and over again but it provides positive feedback so it's quite addictive at the same time. I need to make a goal to think for myself and rely on my brain.

One of my reps ditched their slide deck for a simple whiteboard during in person meetings and found that clients engage way more when they help map out the solution in real time. Moving away from rigid presentations has definitely made their pitches feel more collaborative and less like a lecture. How do you usually balance using visuals without killing the flow of a good conversation?

Seems like one of the most useful skills that you can develop is the ability to reset fast. Bad conversation? Move on? Skipped a routine- let it go. Bad day? Start fresh tomorrow. Missed workout? Hit it the next day. Poor decision? Learn and adjust. You can't control what happens to you, but you do have control how long you let it affect you. 💡

Would you call public speaking and presenting a strength of yours? If so, how’d you build that skill? For me, I built it reluctantly because I had to give a lot of presentations at work. But it payed off over time and helped me out a lot. I think it’s a big part in my ability to advance up the ladder now. What about you?

I’ve been trying to figure out what kind of stress I’m actually dealing with and this chart helped. I always thought of stress as just being overwhelmed, but I realize now a lot of it for me is social. I've been feeling disconnected and unsupported, and I have no one to talk to at work. If you’ve felt this way, what helped you build stronger connections?
