There's nothing worse than when you are new to a clinic and you try to ask for help, but they make you figure things out on your own. I used to work at a urology clinic, and I asked another MA to clarify certain things to me. A way which I can understand. But she would make me guess the next steps to each procedure as if I already knew how to do it. One instance, I told her I didn't understand what she was asking of me, then she started raising her voice the more times I didn't get it.

Anyone else struggle with how emotionally intimate this job can be? I had a patient share something deeply personal during a routine dressing change—like, life-altering trauma level—and it totally caught me off guard. I nodded, listened, did my best, but I left the room feeling emotionally wrecked. We don’t get trained for that level of vulnerability during a wound care task, you know? What do you do when a patient drops something heavy mid-shift? How do you handle those moments without taking them home with you?

How have others who have considered / undergone elective cosmetic surgery rationally thought about complications and how they are handled insurance-wise beyond just the cost of the treatment? What happens if someone ends up developing a reaction to the anesthetic during the operation or some other unanticipated event requiring insanely expensive hospitalization? Most insurance companies would deem such an event uncoverable since it is clearly related to an elective cosmetic procedure..

OK nurses let’s share our most horrific injury and or situation you’ve ever encountered I’ll start- I was a nursing student and this patient came in with a gaping abdominal wound and Fissure. It was a huge hole where her colostomy started a fissure in her abdomen now we’re talking 20 years ago when I was an LPN school OK and the mechanism of injury if you can only imagine horrified me and my classmates I don’t even know if I can say it on here however she was sticking things in it!!!

Apologies in advance as this isn’t specifically BL but figured I’d crowd source some recommendations here from talented fellow BL attorneys. Looking for a reputable PI lawyer in the Portland OR area who might be willing to do a case consult. My significant other had an elderly family member suffer a pretty significant fall when left unattended in a hospital that resulted in an injury that eventually required reconstructive surgery. Any and all recs appreciated. TIA!

I will be completing a physical in a couple of days for a great job at OSU Wexner. Just completed my reconstructive surgery about a month ago. The form they want me to fill out wants me to list the surgeries and presciptions I take. I know I can do the job but if they look at what I have been through they may think I cannot. Should I put everything on there? It feels incredibly intrusive, and I don't want them to rescind the offer.

Feeling really triggered right now. I'm visiting my family, I'm mid 30s so aging has started to show. Lately I'm very insecure about my neck and actually went to see a surgeon a few months ago who said I wasn't elegible for surgery so I cannot really fix it. After couple days here I've just found a new "neck lift" cream in the bathroom... a clear indirect from my mother and or sister that makes me feel hideous.
