      Consulting

      works at McKinsey & Company
      10mo

I left McKinsey a few months ago and now work as a freelance consultant. I really miss VG (our Visual Graphics department) where you can just send slides with some stickies and they will do all the aligning, formatting etc. for you Is there an external service provider that does something like this? Either manually or with AI? My client is also interested in this because the CEO and I are spending way too much time on this stuff… (it doesn’t help that they use Google Slides)

      Engineering

      Controls Technician
      7mo

Hey I’m looking to land another controls position in automation. I used to do intermediate level PLC programming and troubleshooting at my previous employers until personal life circumstances changed. I have been a multi-craft/automation mechanic for 10 years and have a 2 year degree in computer engineering. This field is my passion as it actually stretches me to grow faster than maintenance tech jobs. Any tips on skillsets and certifications to be considered for a controls engineer/tech?

I have performance reviews coming up, was promised DS last promo cycle but due to layoffs and hiring freeze i couldnt get hired into the role from business analyst. The work i do is DS and my manager has communicated that they are doing their best. Everything goes up to EVP rn for req approvals rn. Things dont seem like its changing, i am interviewing, but ideally I would like to stay until I finish my masters. What should i communicate to my manager during my performance review? Cisco

Part 2.💫 Need advice. More significantly the ops leader had many complaints about his demeaning, belittling, arrogant, self absorbed tone and demeanor towards others. So Ive been navigating these concerns with the ceo for coaching opportunities. Im choosing this route as I too see a lot of these characteristics with him and do get the feeling that he talks down to me. So in effort to build a better relationship I chose to let our boss know . Most recently. Go to part 3.

Sunday Scaries!! My manager is big on “pressure creates performance,” which sometimes motivates me and sometimes just makes me feel tense. I hit my numbers, but I also feel like I am always on the edge of being behind. I respond better when I understand the why behind the targets and strategy. Do your managers tend to coach you or just push you? How do you deal? I kind of want to talk to her about communication style, but is that way out of line?

I adore the exec I support, but they are chaos personified. Sweet, brilliant, visionary… but also completely incapable of maintaining a calendar. I manage everything from scheduling to international travel to inbox triage, but I’m also constantly in reactive mode. Sometimes I take initiative and they’re thrilled; other times, they say they wanted to handle it themself. How do you manage someone whose leadership style is basically improv?

Johnson said that (Rep) Dunn had some “real health challenges,” with a “pretty grim diagnosis.” After prodding from Trump, Johnson said, “I think it was a terminal diagnosis.” “He would dead by June,” Trump said. “OK, that’s wasn’t public,” Johnson demurred, as Trump added: “It was a heart problem.” They.Just.Cant.Help.Themselves. https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5786379-trump-johnson-neal-dunn-health/

Hey guys, hope everyone is doing fine. I just want to ask, I have got this manager who’s really good at strategy but not so great on the EQ side. Quite cold and not really engaging with the team. Have you ever dealt with something like this? Any ideas on training or coaching that could help? And if you know any local vendors in Malaysia who do this, do share ya. Thanks!

I got into sales because I liked the idea of controlling my own earnings. Work harder, earn more seemed simple. But lately, it feels like everything’s out of my hands: pricing changes without notice, product bugs killing demos, CRM glitches making me look like I’ve got no pipeline. I’m doing the work, but the results don’t match. Do we actually have control?

I have an HR manager for the first time ever. After I met with leaders 1:1 to give them an update; my manager asked how do I think/see leaders showing up - and I'm not sure what to answer/what they're looking for. Help? Do they mean personally? Are they for an overview on what's going on with each managers team? For me to judge their leadership presence?
