Advice on when to jump ship and move on in my career? I've been in a stable, secure job with great benefits and work life balance for the past 2 years but the pay will never compare to what I could get elsewhere, my skills and raises are stagnating and I cant work 100% remote. The directors can be toxic but so far nothing directed at me. Im young and feel like I might be missing out on opportunities to maximize my earning potential. Advice? And no, there's no room for growth at my current job.

Tangentially related....for those that have a left a solid somewhat lucrative role ($180k-200k total comp w/ great benefits) to trade full time. How much did you start trading with? What made you ultimately take the leap? Planning on starting with 50k-100k (300 elsewhere in retirement accounts. Some debt (140k) but will be relocating soon with very small mortgage (if any) and other expenses. Wells Fargo Bank of America Merrill Lynch Inc JPMorgan Chase Goldman Sachs

I spent two years with two different companies between 2022-2024. This was due to market turbulence, not my performance. I’ve received feedback from recruiters that my resume is jumpy. How can I manage this? Is it a good idea to include a bullet point on why I left those two companies on my resume? (Generally, I have been told not to but I don’t know how else to get past the recruiters) Anyone experienced this?

I’m currently six months into a new job, and things are fine, but I’ve started getting messages from recruiters offering about $5k more than what I make now. Is it worth jumping ship for a relatively small raise this early, or should I stick it out until the end of the year and see what my current company offers? I don’t want to look like a job hopper for a minor pay bump, but money is money. What would you do?

I sometimes I feel like I made the agency > brand side jump too early? I was a Sr AD at my last agency before jumping tech/brand side that knocks u down a level so I’m basically mid level by brand side standards so I feel like I regressed in a way and it made it difficult to find a senior role again in both agency/brand. Anyone have any experience of when they felt was a good time to have jumped?

Would you jump ship for a title bump but basically no increase in comp? Post-MBA Senior Associate at a big 4 firm, making 194K. Promotions have been slow in my practice in recent years due to market conditions so am worried it may take a while to progress to M. Got an offer at another Big 4 for M position, but salary is only 200K. Worth it to jump?

I’m an in-house counsel in Boston making $190k. I’ve been with the same company for four years, and my salary has only moved about 3% annually. I know I could probably get $230k+ if I jumped to a competitor, but I love my manager and the 40-hour weeks. Is it time to jump? Is an extra $40k worth the risk of a toxic new culture?

Anybody was successful in negotiating 401k match increase when jumping firms? Facts, new firms matches 2 percent for first few years and then 4 percent. The old firm matched 6 percent so can I negotiate and ask the new firm to match 4 percent from start? Anybody had done something like this in past successfully? Any guidance?

My manager left and wants me to join them at their new company. It’s tempting—better title, a raise, and someone I trust already there. But the job market’s shaky and I keep thinking…what if it doesn’t work out? I’m already anxious I might get laid off here, but somehow jumping feels just as risky. Would you take the leap?

I just got my first performance review, and the feedback was literally "you're doing great, keep doing what you're doing," with a 2% raise. Inflation in my city is sitting at 4%, so my reward is effectively a pay cut for a year of hard work. Is this normal? Is the only thing to do jump companies?
