K&E bonus memos went out today. Summary for associates- • 100% of associates received full market bonus (no hours minimum) • 80% of associates received amounts greater than market for their class year. • Merit bonuses awarded over 1800 and 2000 hours. • At the high end, some associates received as much as two times the market bonus. 🙏 🙏

Is K&E funds really as bad as their reputation? Billing relatively high each year (2500+) and considering the jump. 6th year NY at a decent funds group but difficult people and partnership seems off the table. I am aware that kirkland’s income partner track is essentially a lower paid senior associate when accounting for benefits but would appreciate insights.

K&E bonus: 80% of associates and 95% income partners will receive above market bonus. Some associates and income partners will receive double the market. Hours-based extra bonus is double of what was paid out last year.

Do all equity partners (except those in public firms) get paid via a K-1? How massive is the tax hit when paying taxes in all states where the firm does business? Also, how big is the tax hit on having to pay all FICA etc. yourself?

I didn’t think Wachtell would beat K&E’s, but I just saw that it was $12.15M. That is crazy given that there is just one tier, so you can’t beef up numbers by moving people to non-equity.

I have 30k of my company stock (ACN) It’s down a crazy amount. I don’t need the money but I should sell, right? The losses will be huge so won’t owe taxes, can write off losses over the next 5 years.

Does anyone have information on salary and bonus criteria/amounts for K&L Gates in NJ and NY? I know it’s not market, but their posted ranges in these markets don’t make sense (NJ seems WAY lower than NY).

If a K1 has 25 different 926 transfers in a footnote and each is only 5k cash but in aggregate they are over the 100k threshold, do we really have to report every single one on the trust return form 926?

I'm moving from San Francisco to Kansas City. All of the jobs I'm seeing in KC pay at least 25% less than what I'm making now. Does that sound right? Is KC cost of living really that much less?
