I’m a female CNC Machinist who did an apprenticeship in precision machining (although started that as a fitter). I’m more passionate about the mechanical and design side of engineering. I’ve been doing short courses in Strategic Leadership and Supply Chain Management, but my employer wouldn’t support me through a degree — and most roles I’m interested in, including in Europe, require one. I’m exploring new opportunities, so if anyone can offer help or advice, I’d really appreciate it.

Is anyone looking for roles and finding it spammed on linkedin. I look to apply for a head of role and linkedin is saying over 100 have applied in a few hours. Im in the uk and in consulting but i find it really hard to believe that most people applying are qualified or are they just stuffing cv with auto crud to try and get through? Any advice as I’ve only applied to ones i can do but feel im getting passed over for lack of cissp but im chartered which is hard harder to attain.

Want to eventually be a Portco exec (LMM), likely best suited for a manufacturing/industrials opportunity. I have a very unique resume - my question is am I dreaming to think I could recruit now or do I need substantial more experience? Resume: licenced electrician; engineer (limited experience); 3 years in big 4 strategy; 2 years currently Csuite at a renewable JV startup (150M assets, sub 5M P&L).

Love seeing all these Omnicom execs at Cannes but there’s still an unprecedented amount of layoffs…. Watching employees that have been with the company over 15+ years get canned then seeing CEO at Cannes is insane. Do better Omnicom, or at least tell them to stop posting their pics on a yacht while some employees are begging for raises for basic necessities. GSD&M

I’m a consultant doing lots of operations, org and PE consulting, interested in moving to PE ops in next 3-5 years. Ultimately I’d like to move to become a portco exec or become an operating partner. What do you think about a specialization in high tech manufacturing companies (eg semiconductors, hardware, industrial tech etc)?
