Looking for some career advice. I've worked in my company from help desk to implementations. I've learned lots of skills related to implementation and configuration. I've done rule scripting in Javascript. I've done database related jobs using SQL. I've done tier 2 level support, QA/QC, some project management, some product management, and some light development work, But I don't know what to do now, and don't feel qualified for anything else. How many of you with advanced degrees are just doing this for the money/prospects vs genuine interest? Physics PhD here who truly is having an existential crisis because I so very much prefer the thrill of using complex math and theory to uncover the secrets of the universe vs doing 4th grade math to calculate cost savings from laying off some staff. But this sets me on a path to earning so much more
