      Confession

      Manager
      7mo

How do I work through a micro manager? It’s gotten to the point now where I lose sleep because of the nitpick, not listening, not actually reading the materials which leads to awkward comment responses “it’s there,” delays in review time, etc. Manager gets annoyed when I don’t include him on things or when folks reach out to me directly. Losing it. I’ve done the over sharing, timelines, pushed back, and nothing has worked. Only thing left is escalating but scared in this environment

Hey all, I’ve been working on a side project to help aspiring management consultants (or currents consultants switching companies) prep for case study type interviews. Basically, a quick market sizing skills check delivered via gamified micro learning. 1. Curious if anyone’s had success with this type of method. Does it work? What did you like / dislike about it? 2. I’ve mocked up a (way too early) MVP below if anyone is interested in trying it out and giving feedback. https://form.typeform.com/to/c05VCxHa

How do you deal with a manager who micromanages? I have some cool ones, but there’s this one lady who acts like she’s standing over my head with a sword, ready to strike if I slip up. Working on bank claims takes focus, you need time to think and avoid mistakes. The moment I put a customer on hold for over three minutes, she pings me to refresh them. I know my job, but can’t I take a few extra seconds? It’s so frustrating to feel constantly watched. What’s your take on such managers?

I believe its pretty unprofessional for small business owners that makes less than 10 million a year to treat their employees like crap. You have less than 20 people working for you and you want to assume, micro manage your employees when you never trained them in a day of their employment. Especially the fact that they are doing absolutely nothing wrong but doing exactly what they are told to do by their supervisor. God forbid if they try to correct your actions.

Need advice. I work at a bank. I now have all my licenses and training. I have a micro manager. It’s to the point, I can’t send an email without manager wanting to review it. It’s been 6 months. I get it, I don’t know everything but this guy is over the top. I can’t send an email to client thanking them for our meeting etc. I’m not sure if it’s the fact this guy didn’t attend univ. Help….

I am starting to think that its just not worth it to bust your butt in fdd for b4 and other larger firms like GT RSM. It looks like most of the firms just had layoff including my firm which were NOT based on metrics. People with 96% util got laid off. This is genuinely bizarre that we are just a number to the firm. Are there any firm which dont do layoffs for the fun of it?

I need some advice on how to handle micromanagement, especially in a technical field? I’m someone who likes to take initiative and problem solve, but my manager has been hovering over every little task I do. It’s starting to get under my skin, and I feel more stressed at work. Any tips on how to navigate this without it affecting my work performance or mental health?

How do you deal with micromanagers at work? It’s something I struggle with because I get so frustrated. How do you address their behavior in a way that doesn’t lead to more problems? Not only is my boss a micromanager, but other leaders in the company are as well and it is starting to become difficult. Any advice would be great.
