Well this really hit me. Some of the people let go had been there since the ‘90s... decades of work gone overnight because the network decided to shift resources. It feels like another sign that legacy entertainment news is shrinking while companies chase social-first platforms. If long-running shows with loyal crews aren’t safe, what does that say about stability in this industry moving forward? Are we looking at a future with fewer traditional jobs and more short-term digital gigs?
