I have a 4 yo who is obsessed with racing cars, my husband is also a huge fan of F1. We don't do screen time except occasional travel screen time (international flights) but lately I have noticed my son and husband watching F1 races (Grand Prix qualifiers) which are not too long but probably count as screen time. My son is really excited and knows all about the teams, ledger board and names of racer I would have thought he won't be able to pronounce... My question as a FTM*

Had a chat with an HR rep yesterday and mentioned that I'm actively interviewing around. They promised to provide feedback today/Monday, to move fast, and to have the process move within a timeframe of about two weeks. Also, the recruiter I work with called to make sure I don't need visa sponsorship 30 mins after the interview. Anyways, that's the first time I heard the figure of "fast" get specific. I'm guessing this means interest?

How do I get up to speed quickly? At a family law firm now, but everyone DGAF. It’s only been a month, but completed multiple PDDs, filed my first FDD, prepared hearing exhibits, and prepared multiple RFOs. I’m a quick and eager learner because I gave up big law for this, but no one seems interested in training me up. Final destination is going solo — will I be able to in a year?

On the long trek to 1M right now… I know 500k is arithmetically halfway to 1M but I’ve read that in terms of time, 350k or so is halfway — just because of the effect of compounding. Is that true?? Any words of wisdom for the long trek to 1M? At about 350k right now and can’t wait till the finish :”)

I’ve noticed that fast-paced environment in a finance job post usually just means you’ll cover 3 roles and still be underpaid. I want to keep growing, but I’m tired of glorified chaos being framed as a challenge to rise to. Do you actually believe fast-paced is a positive trait, or is it just code for burnout?

Advice for fasting? I plan on fasting for religious reasons over the next 40 days (not continuously obviously) but have never fasted before besides IF. Any advice for doing it right in the health-sense? Bonus if you have advice for doing it in the religious context as well.

I interviewed for a new job, and the recruiter said "fast-paced" four times in 20 minutes. It felt like they were trying to warn me. Does this usually mean the books are a mess and I'll be working constant overtime, or am I reading too much into it? What's your take on it?

How fast is too fast? I had an interview yesterday and I’m already scheduled for an interview tomorrow. The company is a start up (well funded. Branched off from another company that is well known). Not sure if red flag or not.

I’m in 2 interview processes right now, one moving fast and one taking over a week between steps. I don’t know if I should keep applying aggressively or slow down and see how these play out. Do you keep momentum or focus on what’s in front of you?
