I applied to a A&M CFO Services Associate role over a month ago and when I look at the Jobvite system it still shows "new". I also applied without a referral, and the only recruiter contact I have been able to find for the sector is the Senior Director of recruiting which I am not sure would be the best person to follow-up with. Is A&M actively interviewing? Additionally, has anyone had a similar experience? If so, how did you follow up with them or how long did it take to hear something back?
Do not work at New Beginnings LLC in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Let me just tell you about how the staff is treated alone. You’re not allowed to report the company or the owner of New Beginnings LLC will say in a group chat made up of your locations staff that “heads will roll” if we report. We have gone three weeks without pay (paid weekly) because the owner hired someone with violent charges. We’re also promised a raise every six months (this is not true). There’s more but it exceeds my 500 limit
My Partner I have worked with the past few years is moving groups due to a recent reorg. The new group is risk and regulatory and doesn’t necessarily sit within my interests. The projects I’ve worked on in the past are not risk and reg. Year end reviews will also be with a different group I want to continue working with this Partner as he has always had my back, but I’m not sure if this move is the right one for me. I am just struggling with what to do as I am in a promotion year
Thoughts on Debevoise/Cleary’s Corporate M&A? Please share only verified and accurate information. Would be coming there as a rising 3rd year. Looking for an established, prosperous, longstanding practice group that is relatively insulated from macroeconomic cycles and likely to remain as strong—or stronger—over the next 30 to 40 years. Thanks all!
If a small specialized lit group gets poached by another firm, is it bad to join their group at the already-established firm they went to? They are building it out at the established firm and looking for associates at other firms for now, but not sure if folks have experience with that. Seems like a good way to pivot into a specialty, but worry about the risk too.
I attempt chat-based interview of woolworths and after that I was given 48 hours to complete the saphia.ai video based interview. After completing both of them, I received the call for group interview. Can someone please share their experience when it comes to group interview? What do they ask or what do they want to see in us?
Has anyone switched practice groups later in your career (as a mid/senior associate)? Or know people who did? What has your/their experience been like? I’m currently a 5th year restructuring associate feeling a bit pigeonholed but also worried that I’m too expensive to train.
I’m a second year in a finance group trying to move into M&A or a more gen corp group in either biglaw or a more medium sized firm. I’ve had a a few interviews but no luck yet. Does anyone have any advice? I can’t move groups internally, I’ve already tried.
Does anyone have insight into Partners Group (culture, WLB, etc.)? Bonus points if it relates to the fund formation teams. I would be making the jump from big law so if the hours are just as bad I might as well stay put for the money.
I'm planning to create a WA community group to help retired and unemployed people chat and share freely. We can talk about investing, work, travel, retirement, dating, food, adventure—anything. Over 20 friends have already signed up.
