For all marketers & SEOs in this bowl: The focus on ranking blue links is a fast track to irrelevance. The real value now is optimizing for AI-driven search (SGE, Perplexity). I call this new discipline AI Engine Optimization (AEO). It's the most critical skill for the next 5-10 years. I wrote the guide on the new framework required to future-proof your career. Read the AEO guide: www.seosiri.com/2025/10/ai-engine-optimization-guide.html #Marketing #SEO #CareerAdvice #AI

Something that may be of help to beat AI at least on the LinkedIn side of things is to only look at jobs posted within the past hour so you have the best opportunity to get your foot in the door. In the link: https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/search-results/?f_TPR=r3600&f_SB2=6&f_WT=2&keywords=Hiring%20Agile%20Scrum%20Master%20Remote you see were it says "=r3600", that indicates positions posted within the past 3600 seconds (1 hour). Change the keywords to fit what you are looking for!

Has anyone been faced with a first round interview that was orchestrated exclusively by AI? Like they want you to answer a series of questions through a chat bot and then they'll set up a video interview with an AI agent. All of the emails and everything are automated with AI. I've been presented with this twice and declined both times. I find it very insulting that the human experience is completely stripped and I have to suck up and impress an AI agent.

One of the concerns surrounding AI is that it will replace a significant portion of the work force in the next 10 years. Yes there will be high performers and people in the AI circle who find work. And there will be trade jobs that AI cannot do. But that doesn’t account for everyone who needs work. With this in mind, what would be your advice? What would you do to prepare for the transition when the work we are doing today disappears?

Is anyone else feeling like AI has made the tech job hunt worse? Candidates use AI to mass-apply and polish resumes, recruiters use AI to filter them, and now everyone’s drowning in applications while real talent gets lost in the noise. Is this helping hiring—or just creating an AI arms race? https://www.inc.com/kit-eaton/the-job-hunt-is-changing-how-ai-is-slowing-recruiters-and-frustrating-candidates/91307687

Are parts of your job already being automated? How many here are out of jobs because of AI or got jobs because of AI?

      Salaries in Advertising & Marketing

Your agency rolled out 3 AI tools this year. Your workload didn't shrink — it grew. Now you're expected to produce more, faster, with the same headcount and the same salary. They call it efficiency. You call it scope creep with a tech rebrand. No new title. No bump. Just a "we're innovating" all-hands. Who else is doing AI-era work on pre-AI pay? And at what point do you start pricing that into your next offer?

I think using AI in Job Hunting is like a eating a mushy Holiday sandwich. You have all the perks of using AI as the moist turkey, and your achievements are all the stuffing, but these multiple layers of AI use in Resumé building and ATS screening creates a mush between cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. You can still eat that sandwich but you have to get through the messy bits.
