I was offered a job at $130K. I'm in Texas, USA. My wife just quit her job. My last job was $120K, also in Texas. I haven't worked in 9 months because of how rough the market has been, and we just had our first baby girl. The wife, using AI, wants me to counter for at least $145,000-$150,000, but she doesn't work and isn't familiar with the tech job market. I would be employee #1 at this company and reporting to the CEO directly. What would you do given this scenario?

I only get attention when my numbers aren't up to "par" December I did great but of course it wasn't enough. Im doing even better this month, when everything is actually suppose to be down in comparison with my colleagues, and they just love pointing out "yeahhhh but you're missing this and this is important as well". Like dude im still top 10% in the company, in our district its not just me. How do you push through the negativity without it affecting your attitude and motivation? Im annoyed...

I got an offer for a role with the following package : 140k base 110k commission , Target is 75K MRR, account is hold for 4 months and then they will see whichever number is the highest in that 4 months to retie it to quota. New logo bonus : 7.5k on top of the monthly MRR per logo, 2nd logo :9k, 3rd logo onwards :10k. In this scheme, it must be 110K ratio to (75k mrr x 12 months =900k) right? Otherwise it doesnt really make sense the 110k :75k What do you guys think of this offer? Based in SG

-how can I re-study these problem solving questions and understand its logic? Happy weekend, folks! I've been rejected at interview because I couldn't print this formula "1 22 333 4444" at the interview without looping and use PHP function str_repeat($val, $time) inside that loop! I'm a Full stack web developer (laravel & vue) with 3 years of experience, also I remember I couldn't solve it at the university 😂. The interviewee solved it and I've explained his nested loop code!

I just cleared the final round for a Senior Analyst role, but the initial verbal offer they threw out is exactly what I’m making now. I know I have the leverage since I’m currently employed and they need this seat filled, but I always freeze up when it comes to the actual counter-offer discussion. I want to push for a 15% bump on the base and a signing bonus to cover the vacation days I’m leaving. How do you phrase your counter so you sound confident instead of greedy?

Got my bonus letter today and I genuinely have no idea how they calculated it. No metrics, no rubric, just a number and a vague appreciate your contributions note. It’s frustrating working in a profession obsessed with precision but allergic to compensation transparency. I don’t want to seem ungrateful, but I’d like to understand how my work translates into dollars. How do you ask for clarity without sounding like you’re disputing it?

Just found out my coworker (same title, similar performance) is making $12k more in base than I am. We joined the same quarter, work the same territory type, and our numbers aren’t far apart. I’ve been putting in the work, so it honestly feels like a slap in the face. Part of me wants to confront leadership and ask directly, but part of me wonders if that just makes me look petty. Would you bring it up and push for parity?

I have 6 total analyst positions. Of those 6, we have 2 vacant positions. My boss expects the the same amount of productivity from 4 people as what we would see from 6. I keep telling her that is not possible. Am I wrong? I'm at loss on how to talk to her. She wants me to do the work of an analyst on top of my work as the manager of the unit. Again expects the same output from as 6 people. Any input would be great.

How would you handle this situation, because I swear I'm about to lay hands on my coworker. I have a coworker who thinks she's in charge. She is not, but she loves to try to boss us around while doing very little work herself. I confronted her and asked her why does she think she gets to boss us around? "Well, I do make more than you." Was her reply. She makes like $0.50 more an hour than I do.

I'm really struggling as the new, youngest person on the team, and I feel like my manager is completely taking advantage of me. I'm drowning in work, doing what feels like four people's jobs, and I have zero WLB. I need to figure out how to say "no" without causing trouble, especially since I'm still in my probation period. How can I handle this politely but firmly?
