just released my free, open source project on Git. It's essentially a cold-calling platform like Zoom or Apollo. However, it's fully free, open source & configurable. Perfect for edge case go-to-market strategies. Data privacy for sales teams is at the heart of the project. Your hard-earned sales contact info and notes remain on your system only. Even i can't see these details. Unlike other platforms that share your data with your competitors. i'd love some feedback? 🙏🫡🇮🇪 https://github.com/dbee01/keiste-workspaces/

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Daniel Gaertner
      1mo

I was wondering what is the best way or strategy to get into system administration. I used to work for a commercial shipping company being responsible for the IT on board the vessels. Therefore, I used to work more with server operating systems and barely had any end user interaction. I would like to get back more into that area and away from end user support and help desk. Any suggestions how I could accomplish that? I would be happy with an entry level position but haven’t seen any postings

I’m a UI/UX designer with a background in economics and customer experience, currently exploring product systems that prioritize transparency and trust. My journey into design started with curiosity about how digital experiences influence decision-making — especially in emerging tech spaces. I’m particularly interested in building structured, user-centered systems that solve real problems rather than just look good. Looking forward to connecting and learning from other professionals here.

I have worked in GIS for at least 3 years and is currently looking for another role. My issue is I have a bias on open-source software personally so I've been with QGIS since the start. Though I managed to use ArcGIS from a colleague's laptop and it's great to use (Still yet to check out their free online training) Most, if not all job postings here seem to prefer Esri products and anyone with a Geomapping/Engineering related background (I'm in IT). Can I ask for an advice how to approach this?

      Shop Foreman

Looking for some career advice. I’ve been a technician for 23+ years. Have been a shop foreman at 2 different dealers, I have attended service management training classes, paid for myself not by the dealer I’m employed at, at a well known institute but cannot seem to make the transition to a service management position. I applied for an open management position with my current group, they ultimately decided to hire someone’s friend from an independent with no dealership experience. What now?

Putting myself out there. If anyone knows of open ServiceNow roles, I'd love a connection I'm a ServiceNow Admin & Developer with 6+ years building and optimizing ITSM solutions. I'm comfortable across the full platform, Flow Designer, Integration Hub, Service Catalog, scripting, etc A few highlights: I've driven a 30% reduction in manual ticket handling through automation and successfully led data migrations with zero loss across environments. Open to relocation.

Among the lengthy laundry list of requirements for an open role, if there’s specific programs other than typical Adobe creative suite & Microsoft ones, for an art director, and you don’t know Figma or Midjourney for example… do you apply? If you get an interview and that comes up, do you fib, fake it? It’s frustrating to be expected to be a master of everything, when reality of agency life you may nit be touching those programs frequently. Advice please 🥺

I'm trying to find a permanent role. Is Glassdoor, LI, etc. your first sources for open jobs? I've read that employers typically post openings on their company sites first before they end up on Glassdoor. If true, do I need to go to every career page of every company I'm interested in each day just to be one of the first to apply (and more likely get noticed)? Note: I'm subscribed to job RSS feeds for companies that offer them, but not all do.
