      Has anyone read the new NEA magazine on salary scales? It mentions short and strong salary scales . Instead of waiting years to get a jump in salary. I’m not in favor of getting teachers to end too fast due to the pension system having to absorb the excessive pension payouts… also I’m seeing districts do this short and strong salary scale & I’m now seeing teachers with only 10 years experience make what I make at almost 29 years… as a result those teachers want to move up to admin

      For Deloitte people, I have Anthem PPO and tried calling Optum to enroll in Bright Beginnings their fertility support program. They said they don’t handle enrollments and redirected me to Anthem. Anthem said they don’t handle enrollments and first directed me back to Optum and then told me to talk to Deloitte benefits. Deloitte benefits gave me the same Optum number to call. HOW can I enroll? Hoping to start my IVF journey soon and need to enroll to get insurance benefits.

      I am a new hospice physician. Their approach to non-malignant pain and agitation in end stage dementia patients appears to occ. favor opioids and benzos for patient “ comfort” over risk of falls. Besides the usual ” behavioral first approach,” I would greatly appreciate seasoned advice as to which specific scenarios should prevail pos or neg 4 adding meds. One example would be patient having increasing falls. Another one is that a CNA has already gotten hurt. What other criteria come 2 mind?

      I had a Bain interview today. My first case study went great - interviewer said excellent framework and that I did a great job (unprompted). Second case however… I think my structure was good and initial chart reading fine, but I took a while for the maths before I finally asked if I could round. Then for a follow up maths question, I had the right logic, but made a calculation error. The interviewer directed me another way and I managed, but can’t help but feel it’s over

      Anyone work for United Health Group/Optum Insight? There is a position open and after being laid off from my job in October Im wondering if this would land me back in the same spot. Plus they give no ideas on PTO. State all these other incentives but no mention of PTO. Anyone have Pros & Cons? I know each department is different. It would be for a Senior Data Entry Clerk. Any Insight would be great on the company as a whole.

      Our bonus structure is 100% discretionary. There is no formula, no metrics, no written criteria. Just… leadership’s call. It makes it impossible to know what to aim for or how to improve. One year I got a strong bonus and no explanation; the next, it was cut in half with the same review. I like the job, but the lack of transparency is starting to wear on me. Is this normal, or are other firms actually using structured comp plans?
