Having shoulder surgery in a few months and am trying to find a PT ahead of time. I’m in WV/Chelsea area and am wondering if all the good PTs are out of network with insurance? I don’t want to go to one of those mass studios which have like 5 patients at a time as in my experience it reduces care quality. Any one have any thoughts? I’ve never done PT in the city.

Can we talk about how broken PTO is in this field? I work three 12s and it still feels impossible to take time off without causing chaos for the schedule or getting guilt-tripped. It’s not even vacation, sometimes I just want a mental health day without strategizing it like a hostage negotiation. What would real PTO flexibility look like in our world?

      Career Advice for Students

Hey guys! I’m currently in my senior year at A&M central Texas. I’m deciding on pursing PTA after I obtain my bachelors. On the other hand, I’m interested in RBT—> BCBA route. Is their job security in that? Should I just go PTA route and bridge to PT eventually? I just have a passion to help. Any advice?

So often I end up having to cram in my PTO at the end of the year to avoid losing it on 12/31. It actually ends up becoming stressful to fit it in and when half the company is also off a good part of December. Have other companies found a better way through unlimited PTO, rollovers, PTO banks, etc.?

How much PTO do you get per year and what is the policy if you don't use it? Do you get paid back? I'm one of the "lucky" ones who get "unlimited" time off. I actually use it to the best of my ability, and I'm not scared to take a Friday/Monday off just to get a long weekend.

There are senior staff engineers at my company that get some serious pto policies. I feel like they’re on pto at least six weeks of the year. I’ve only got three and I am on the on call rotation. I’m building my win list so I have leverage for renegotiating my accrual rate

Have you ever negotiated better PTO? I wish I could but unfortunately it's not negotiable at target and I am not up to get more time for another 11 years I do get 5.5 weeks currently, so I'll live. How much PTO do you earn. Is it enough? Is any amount t really enough?

I'm 70. After a long career, I am retired, working an occasional PT job but need & want a consistent PT job. I've applied for positions but have only had one interview in which the job posted changed form PT to FT. Any recommendations or advice?
