      FIRE Financial Independence Retire Early

I retired a month ago and many people were asking what I was planning to do for health insurance. The 2026 ACA rates were released yesterday. My partner and I are estimating $30,000 in income (dividends, interest, cashing out investments and recognizing gains). A silver plan with $0 deductible will cost us less than $100/month. We will need to be diligent to make sure our income is very close to $30,000 and not less. This was a pleasant realization that I hope motivates others!

I was offered a promotion & I’m going to accept it tomorrow. I have been diagnosed with ADHD, late in life I was 30 now I’m 38. I have recently decided I couldn’t raw dog life anymore so they put me on adderall. Don’t know if I like it or not but not the point.. I need a planner, like the best planner ever created for someone with ADHD and not one that needs me to read an instruction manual in order to use it. I have ADHD that’s never going to happen. Any links, suggestions would be appreciated❤️

Fully licensed Financial Planner that provides education (no sales) on a wide variety of financial planning topics including retirement, investments, budgeting, estate planning, college funding, taxes, and more. All this sounds sexy, until you find out that you do this all in a call center with 6 clients per day. Burn out is real, growth is non-existent, and salary is bad. I started at $65k and got a 3% raise within a year to $67k. Bonus stayed at $5000. Pay raises only occur if GS performs.

A friend loves coming up with ideas to hang out but she fails to take action. I’ll be the one to actually try to implement and plan it out. Lately she has been unresponsive when I actually try to schedule it or cancels leading up saying she is tired or visiting family. I finally learned not to initiate plans with her. She messaged me a few days ago as usual and I told her i’m down and that she should reach out with a plan when she is free. Let’s see when or if we ever hang out again 😆

Could use advice from people who understand health insurance: I have a family member who was recently diagnosed with cancer and is trying to select the right health insurance plan during open enrollment. They work for the federal govt so have ~30 options. My inclination is to select the plan that has the lowest total cost of premiums + out of pocket max since they will have $150k+ costs this year. Is there anything else I should consider? Their doctor / hospital is in network for all plans

Hi all, Need some suggestions. I and my wife are starting the IVF process and we received a quote of 10k for a full IVF cycle from the fertility clinic. They also confirmed that the entire 10k is covered by the 50k plan which EY supports. So I want know should we still pay out of pockets for the medications or use the rest of the 50k plan for medication? Any suggestion is helpful. Also how much does it costs for medication out of pocket ?

I am a part of the 60% of Americans which have no financial plan. Do you have a plan in place? I'm 50, no retirement savings. I do get by, can afford all my expenses, and have been putting little bits away building an emergency fund. But it seems like car issues and other things always deplete it. At $70k a year and the only household income I feel like I don't make enough to effectively execute a plan. Where do you stand?

How much would a comp plan have to change for you to quit immediately? My base stayed the same, but they quietly moved accelerators from 110% to 125% and added clawbacks if a client churns within 90 days. No heads-up, no conversation, just a new plan dropped in our inbox. I had my biggest quarter ever last year and now I’m making less per deal. It feels like they’re punishing top performers instead of rewarding them.

Leadership keeps saying they don’t want to overpay mediocre reps, which I get, but now the comp plan is so convoluted even top performers can’t figure out how to maximize earnings. There are clawbacks, tiers, thresholds, multipliers, and no one can explain how it all works in plain English. I’m good at what I do, but it’s exhausting just to get paid. Would you take a simpler, lower-paying plan just for peace of mind?
