      The Worklife Bowl

      Millwright
      8mo

I retired from Chrysler Trenton Engine after 35 years as a Millwright in March 2024. I've found it extremely difficult to find employment for my industrial background, and yet they say they're is a dearth of skilled tradesman. After all of my job searches in mostly non- union shops this has been my experience: they desire multicraft individuals. My question is; who provides that specific training? The answer is NONE. I've seen these "entrance exams" as preamble to an interview it's all NONSENSE!

Hey all! I am a Senior postdoctoral researcher at UBC. I am a chemist with specialty in Organometallic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, polymer modifications and catalysis. Over 90% of jobs in Ontario and Quebec (where I would want to work, definitely no US jobs at the moment) are all either lab technician/QC jobs with abysmal pay or pharma jobs that require lots of background in pharmaceutics or biological assays. If you're on the same path and you found some good job, please write below!

Working in erstwhile Dunn Solutions which has now merged with Kaar technologies Inc has been an incredibly enlightening experience. From starting as a simple PowerBI data analyst, I have had the opportunity to work on multiple technology stacks such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, FiveTran and more. I have also worked in AI as well, since the nature of consulting enables us to be hands on with all the latest technologies. Look forward to many more learning experiences.

Chemist with Mining Edge From the lab bench to the leach pads, I’ve built my career on turning data into decisions. I thrive where science meets industry: troubleshooting instruments, crunching numbers in Excel or Power BI, and keeping OHS standards front and center. Now I’m looking to apply this blend of scientific rigor and operational know‑how in mining engineering, metallurgy, or process optimization roles — helping teams drive efficiency, safety, and innovation

This past summer, I developed strong laboratory, research, and problem-solving skills in a collaborative scientific environment. I’m eager to apply my academic background in biotechnology, molecular biology, or biomedical research. If you know of any labs, companies, or openings that may be a good fit, I’d love to connect.

Is TELLUS DIGITAL a good company to work for, I have seen some reviews. Wanted the bowls opinion. Does anyone- have any personal experience with this company? I landed a 6 week project, and I am excited to get started but, I have already been through three onboarding analysis. Does it keep going or does paid work actually happen. Or, do you think I am literally training AI for free?

Hey everyone! I have a software engineering interview with Argonne Laboratory located in the Chicagoland area. I searched through their reported interviews but only 2 responses. Has anyone interview with them for software engineering role? If so, what were some of the questions? Lastly, I am new to the software development field any interview tips?
