      Consulting

      Porter
      10mo

I recently got promoted so from porter to consulting and was moved from one office to another and I have been there going on 2 months in that job position and I have been trained very little. I feel like there is more I should be learning and when I talked to my past manager and she said there is more to learn than what I have been taught so far with my current manager and my day consists of sitting at my computer doing nothing. My new manager says its slow but she could at least teach me more.

I've been advising at Wren Sterling for 4 years, having been headhunted from a smaller, family run practice. I was hesitant to take the leap initially. Looking back, I am so glad I did. It has allowed me to really grow as an adviser & advise in a range of different advice areas. The company has a solid moral foundations, which is important to me. I am treated & trusted to do my job to the best of my ability, to put the client first, without micro management. I wouldn't work anywhere else.

My husband and I were recently laid off, and he’s trying to figure out his next step. He has years of hands on experience in residential renovation and maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, drywall, flooring, framing, and general repairs. He’s considering HVAC school but is open to other trades as well. Any insight on the best trades to pursue, trade school vs apprenticeship, or union routes would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

      Career Pivot

      Events Assistant
      8mo

Hi, for over half a year I've been working in a job that has become increasingly more isolating. Working to complete Porter-like duties without any team members or external support. I really want to start conversing with guests and customers again! While also applying for Customer Service Assistant vacancies, I'm also thinking in applying to a Hospitality Management and Festival & Events course in the future. Any advice for jumping careers?

I started a Kemper via Merit Staffing January 22,2025. I was not expecting to stay as long as I have, nor did I think that I would be hired. When I was offered the position, I was flattered, and I am so happy that I accepted. Everyone here is so nice, and the word, "team player." resonates through-out this company. I feel valued, and appreciated, and that is important to me. I highly reccomend Kemper life as an outstanding place of employment.

Hi there, I recently applied for a head kitchen porter role at a luxury restaurant. I know I am not very strong at interviewing but I think it went well. However, I just got a rejection email. The closing date isn’t until next week. Is it suitable to reapply for the job or does it not give the hiring manager a good impression of me? I hope you guys can help. I am from the UK
