      Ask A Recruiter - Law

      Attorney
      9mo

Maybe a dumb question. I pretty much got a job out of law school. I've been in this job for a few years and looking to move elsewhere. In-house and third party recruiters are asking for a writing sample. Do we provide a sample exactly as what was filed with the Court? Are we able to still make changes and make it better, if possible, when submitting to the recruiter / firm? Redactions, etc? What's the process for this? Saw some answers online, but figured I'd come directly to the source!

Capital One recruiter just asked me 2 SQL coding questions for their business analysis role. I found it super stupid. Are you looking for a coder or a strategic thinker? And do you really know the answer? For the background, I used SQL before and knew how to pull data i needed but i am not a coder to pop out the answers for these “ technical screening”. I also noticed she is a contractor and the role has been posted for a while, she can’t get right pool w this approach. Thoughts?

I am asked to complete a case as part of the interview process. The case is to assess use of various frameworks, problem solving, stakeholder and team management skills. The instructions says that output should be 1-2 pages in a written response. I am trying to see what other output formats you have used? e.g. couple of slides or any other format to present the info that wows the hiring team, lol? or I should stick to the instructions in a simple 2 page word doc.

I'm exploring freelance writing opportunities to expand my portfolio and earn supplemental income. My background includes content writing, research, editing, and project coordination. I'm particularly interested in scriptwriting for YouTube channels (including character ASMR content), as well as paid writing opportunities with digital media and content platforms. I'd love to hear recommendations on companies, platforms, or niches worth exploring.

      Jobs in Finance

      Sales Executive
      7mo

Working at Fiserv has been the worst experience in my sales career. In a little over two years, I've had 5 different sales managers. The base salary for this role is well below average, and the comp plan has been changed at least 3 times to the detriment of the sales executives. I've had to report inappropriate behavior and comments from sales managers to HR 3 times. It's such a toxic environment that I resigned without having another role.

At the core, Fiserv is betting on convergence. Payments, merchant acquiring, POS, core banking, and digital banking all sit under one roof. Hey everyone, Has anyone here ever worked with a professional resume writer hirecvwriters.ae/cv-writing/ for finance positions? I’ve always handled my own resume, but I’m wondering if getting outside help could give it a more polished, competitive edge especially for roles at top firms. Would love to hear from anyone who’s tried it. Was it helpful, or did you feel like you could’ve done just as well on your own?

Hey guys, I could really use your help coming up with my narrative for my big. I’m currently in audit, but I have a rotation lined up for  FDD from July - Sept. but It just came to my attention there are looking for a rotator in IB for my company. How do I craft my narrative to do both? Or not do FDD, and straight to IB. IB opportunities are ad hoc. IB has always been my goal. Not sure what to do
