      The Worklife Bowl

      works at Chubb
      6mo

Chubb is moving to a new office and asking employees to bring the keyboards/mice they were given to new office. They are acting like i was given a brand new keyboard/mouse which both were used when i onboarded. Now at the new office i need reserve a desk where i can’t leave anything at. I’m expected to remove my keyboard/mouse every day where i store in a locker that i also have to reserve every day. This all makes me feel so temporary and not valued. They call it purpose driven workspaces.

just released my free, open source project on Git. It's essentially a cold-calling platform like Zoom or Apollo. However, it's fully free, open source & configurable. Perfect for edge case go-to-market strategies. Data privacy for sales teams is at the heart of the project. Your hard-earned sales contact info and notes remain on your system only. Even i can't see these details. Unlike other platforms that share your data with your competitors. i'd love some feedback? 🙏🫡🇮🇪 https://github.com/dbee01/keiste-workspaces/

RTO soon. It’s an open- open space (conferenc have and a very collaborative group. Unfortunately, there are only a few conference rooms and some 2 person sized rooms. I am very used to having my own office or sharing an office with another attorney. I am doing data privacy. I also have ADHD and to get work done I basically need to lock myself into a closet with no windows. They told me they would accommodate as much as possible but they refuse to give me even a closet. Recommendations?

      Job Hunting in Tech

      Software Engineer
      11mo

Ten years in, and I’ve yet to meet a system I couldn’t stabilize or a tech stack I couldn’t tame. I’ve built CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps, modernized shipping and e-commerce with RESTful APIs, and led cross-platform work uniting desktop, mobile, and cloud on scalable .NET architectures. I’m looking for a team that’s forward-thinking, fast-moving, and ready to build boldly. I bring clear execution and architectural vision from greenfield builds to legacy overhauls.

My current job, I stumbled upon it, and it's great. It's just that it's been mostly freelance. I would like more stability! Thoughts?

Amazon Data Engineer (L5) — Virtual (US) — Offer. I recently cracked it. Process: recruiter chat (30m) → 1–2 tech screens (SQL/Python/ETL + optimization) → loop 4–5 panels: SQL deep dive, ETL design, data modeling; Manager + Bar Raiser (LP-heavy). Prep: joins/windows/CTEs; nested JSON, sliding windows, dedup/late data; facts/dims, SCD, partitions; Redshift/S3/Spark. Takeaway: tech + LPs both key; ~4 weeks.
