      Jobs in Finance

      Head of Defi
      2mo

I left a stable VP track at a bulge bracket to join a Web3 Finance startup in 2024, and now my resume looks like a crime scene to traditional recruiters. They see the Head of DeFi title and immediately assume I’ve lost my mind or forgot how to read a standard balance sheet. I’m trying to move back into Treasury or Risk, but the bias against anyone who touched alternative assets is absolutely brutal right now. How do you re-brand a disruptor phase back into boring, reliable banker without looking like a failure?

I’m in the UK 19 yrs. In 2021 I began treatment for what was then diagnosed as terminal cancer. I got the all clear, but it returned in 2024 & I was made redundant a week later. I found another role, negotiated to keep my salary but accepted a reduced T level. I’ve been in role & well for 18mths; however cancer has returned. I’ve been in treatment 3 mths & my mgr has advised she’s putting someone above me, moving me off the LT and giving 70% of my role & team to the new manager. Can she do this?

      Senior Underwriter
      7mo

I’m trying to get rehired with united wholesale mortgages as I enjoyed my time there as a senior underwriter. However I had a family emergency that made me leave without the thought of giving the company a 2 weeks notice. Does anyone know the rehire process? Is there a certain time period I have to wait before they’d even consider me again? I had a phone call with a recruiter weeks ago but they told me they’re moving forward with other candidates. She mentioned that they’re keeping my profi-

I made a Roth IRA cont in 2024. I was over income so had to remove excess cont of $5k in April 2025 before filing my 2024 tax return. My 2024 return shows 40 bucks excess cont. I got a 1099-R for 2025 relating to that excess cont & theres a small amount for earnings on that. Traditional IRA bal at end of 2025 was only $6. Do I file an amended tax return for 2024 with correct excess cont or is it ok to report the excess of $5k in my 2025 tax return as the 1099-R is dated 2025? Any considerations?

      Interview Tips

      Graphic Designer
      2mo

I was give an interview opportunity for a design job AI couldn’t pass up. They reached out, asked me to pick a time, and I did. I triple checked to make sure I did it right. I got an email stating I’m not on their schedule, and they want me to reschedule. I’d be happy to, except they think I made a mistake, and that’s probably points against me now. Do I reschedule, stand my ground, or just move on? I’m tempted to move on, but this is the only interview I’ve had in months. I can’t pass it up.

I have contacted the person who recommended me the new job for an update on January 22nd, 2026 to see if there’s anything that they need before I get called in for the interview. I was told that the person who is hiring hasn’t looked at the applications yet and is busy as well after I emailed the person on January 13th, 2016. Should I contact them again and say if I should resend my information in just incase? I do have everything with me. Any tips?

Restarting isn’t failure it’s strategy. Sometimes you take a job that’s not your “forever job” just to create stability, buy yourself time, and keep moving forward. Titles don’t define your worth. A “bridge job” is just that a bridge to something bigger. Lowering the rung for now doesn’t mean you’re stuck there forever. It means you’re prioritizing your future over your pride. And sometimes, that’s the smartest move you can make.

I’m doing a Returnship after three years away to raise my kids, and being managed by a 24-year-old who calls me kiddo is a new level of hell. I have ten years of institutional knowledge that this kid hasn't even begun to grasp, but because I have a gap on my resume, I’m treated like I don't know how to use Excel. How do you maintain your dignity while restarting at the bottom of a ladder you already climbed once?
