Can I get advice on how to network? I’m a huge introvert and building professional relationships has been a struggle. I do the linkedin connections request and never speak to them again. How do I approach it? Like not ideals or advice. Hold my hand and tell me what I need to do. I’m so scared. I feel everything is a transaction. Or they know I’m just using them. And i dont have friends and dont maintain old relationships. I have nothing to offer. I dont have value. But i need to learn 🙏

I don’t know how to network and maintain connections. I have been working in this industry for 15 years, I always get positive reviews about my work and how I show up as an employee, but I still cant seem to maintain connections when I move on from one role to another. I am chronically ill, and so I often don’t have the stamina to do an 8-10 hour workday and then also do happy hour or other social things after work. Im now four months into a layoff and realizing how incredibly isolated I am.

Does anyone actually want to connect on Linkedin? The whole purpose of that platform is to network right? I'm in the process of applying for jobs, and to better help my chances, I've been trying to network with people within similar roles or the hiring team within the company, hoping to gain an edge but not a single person has been interested in replying. I'm wondering if I'm overstepping a boundary, or am I 1 of 100 with the same strategy?

I'm stumped. I applied for a job 3 weeks ago, and HR sent me a connect request. But I haven't heard a word since. Is this a new way for companies to collect potential candidates for the future? I'm baffled by it. I sent a message thanking them for the request and mentioned how excited I am to learn more about the role. No response. WTH? The job is still listed on their website, along with other roles that have been open for months. I was ready to move forward and got silence. 😩 Dang!

I am trying to help my husband post more on LinkedIn as he tries to make his next career move. I don't belong to the same industry that he does - which is presales engineering in the Saas space.
