I've been a SC at a firm for 3 years, and I am interviewing with another big 4 for a M role in a similar practice. Interviews went well but I saw a new app submitted on my profile for a SC position in the portal. Guessing this means based on my interviews, they want to consider me for SC instead of M. Assuming I get an offer, anyone have any success convincing the firm to bring you in at the higher level (aka M)? Obviously with my experience, i'm not interested in making a lateral move.

Hello! I am from MD & am thinking about relocating to NC. I have been having an EXTREMELY hard time with finding a decent, stable job in MD; but its just been almost impossible in my area. I am a mixed race person. Are the people in Charlotte friendly? Also, how is the job market there? I graduated 8 years ago & I am so sick of not hearing hardly anything back after applying for several jobs. Im not getting any younger & feel so stuck Im also hoping to fi d a long term relationship there too!

I've been a Full Stack Engineer for a while, and was let go early last year. I was able to find a job at a local sme as a system admin / IT support guy to tide me over while I worked on a mid career switch to Cyber Security. I've been on platforms like HTB playing with their labs, and am getting my OSCP. I've tried to find internships/junior roles with no luck. Does anyone know if there are any companies that are open to a mid career switch person into cyber sec?

Is Roland Berger a good potential move? I’m currently an SC with 5 years experience and interviewing at RB, for an SC role. It would be within their Regulated Utilities practice which aligns with my interests in Energy & Utilities. As part of my company research, I’ve been reading about how it is doing badly, but nothing regarding the current state. I know RB is doing badly in MENA, but there’s not much out there regarding London. Appreciate any insights!

In need of connections in the Charleston/Moncks Corner, South Carolina area as I am seeking jobs there as I am a recent graduate mechanical engineer. I am open to roles in and/or closely related to engineering to help me gain experience. I have been searching for months but everyone wants me to have more experience, I’m searching for ways to gain it. Any help, advice, true connections, or job recommendations would be greatly appreciated in this time.

I have been a bookkeeper/finance secretary/administrative assistant for SC Schools for the last 18 going on 19 years. I recently relocated to NC and NC will not honor my years in the SC System. I was told it's like starting over again...at the bottom on the salary barrel. Why is it like this? It's disappointing, I want to retire from the school system, but now I'm looking outside the system. Has anyone else experienced this?

Hi everyone. I have 6 years of HR experience in Colombia and Spain, now living in Seattle. Do you recommend pursuing SHRM-CP/SCP to strengthen my profile here, or should I first gain local experience? Also, is self-paced online study or instructor-led training more effective? Are there other certifications or institutions you’d suggest? Any guidance or personal experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

I have a SHRM-SCP certification and over 10 years experience at the HR Director level. I have multi-national company experience as well as across multiple industries- a very well rounded work history. I have been looking for a job since summer of 2024. I have rewritten my resume, used AI to optimize for ATS systems….. yet I can’t even get an interview. Any tips?
