      All Things MBB

Should I renege MBB for SWE? Starting very soon in MBB US at undergrad level (cs major and never interned in mbb, only swe). Have an offer to go back to the tech company I interned at. Starting Pay is 100k higher than mbb. My biggest concern is seeing the negativity around mbb on this forum, plus swe is very different from a year ago when I signed the offers and tech/ai seems to be booming more than ever before. Want to make sure I’m not screwing up my life and wasting my cs background. Thanks

Hi Im a former Kiewit Offshore employee with 12 years of experience in the Ingleside Structural Assembly Building (SAB) as a First Class Fitter and Leadman. I'm looking to return to the company and have submitted applications but haven't heard back yet. Does anyone have advice on the best way to get my application noticed for craft fitting or safety roles? I'd be grateful for any insight or a point of contact. My experience includes complex rigging, critical lifts, and a perfect safety record.

Hey everyone! I’ve been in Salt Lake City abit over a year now and I am a Salesforce developer pursuing a masters in computer science with a concentration in intelligent systems and data mining. I am trying to break out of the Salesforce ecosystem and having a tricky time trying to do that through ATS’s. I was wondering if there are any software engineers or software architects who would be willing to connect and share some insights into how to break into the broader tech ecosystem here in SLC

SLC, UT — Commercial Lines Account Manager with 5 years’ experience (often mistaken for 10+). I manage ~200 accounts spanning Small Business, Mid-Market, and flagship clients, with multiple complex lines. My book is approximately $2.6M in premium. CISR-designated, with plans to pursue CIC and CRM. I recently asked for $80K (currently at $63K and feeling under-market). Curious what others in our area are earning and how that aligns with years in the role, designations, and scope of responsibility

Received an offer at Altman Solon today and at final stage with Simon Kucher interview on Monday next week - both as pre-MBA consultant level. Thoughts on Altman vs SK in terms of WLB, culture? Seems like it’d also take too long (over a week) for Altman to hold the offer so need to let know now. I like AS’s reputation and expertise in TMT and seems like the firm has an outstanding culture, but the revenue & pricing strategy work SK does in Industrials seems interesting.

Hello fishes! I’m building a small, execution-focused team to help SMBs embed AI into real workflows. Looking for people who: • Already use AI fluently (LLMs, automation tools, APIs) • Have built and deployed AI workflows • Can translate business problems into solutions • Can commit ~5–10 hrs/week Hands-on implementation and a chance to see under the hood of SMBs. If you’ve shipped with AI and want applied experience, let’s connect.

Hi everyone, I have an upcoming interview with SLB for an Electrical Engineering internship position in Houston. For those who’ve been through the process, what kind of questions should I expect and what’s the best way to prepare? I’d really appreciate any general advice on how to make a good impression and what SLB looks for in candidates.

Does anyone have insights on the STAAT team at UBS? I’m currently in the interview process with them. The hiring manager mentioned they’re working on upgrading a legacy trading platform (possibly mainframes?) to a modern tech stack. It sounds like a promising opportunity, but I’d really appreciate any additional context or experiences anyone might be able to share.
