How did you choose your goal weight? I’m a 5’8 f, don’t know what my goal should be. highest weight as a teen was 220. recently I hovered around 170 for years. Lost those 50lbs with lifestyle changes over many years. Since microdosing a glp1, currently at 155. This is the smallest I’ve ever been as an adult and I’m a size 8, 25% body fat. I like my curves so I don’t want to get too small. It’s hard though now with skinny being in fashion again I feel like some people don’t when to stop

Has anyone read the new NEA magazine on salary scales? It mentions short and strong salary scales . Instead of waiting years to get a jump in salary. I’m not in favor of getting teachers to end too fast due to the pension system having to absorb the excessive pension payouts… also I’m seeing districts do this short and strong salary scale & I’m now seeing teachers with only 10 years experience make what I make at almost 29 years… as a result those teachers want to move up to admin

A manager I respected once told me: “The higher you go in public, the more you lose—time, sleep, weekends. The pay goes up, but your life disappears.” At the time I thought he was exaggerating. Now, watching the senior managers around me—I’m not so sure. It makes me wonder if accounting salaries really scale with responsibility, or if the workload just scales faster than the paycheck. For anyone who’s made it to manager or above—was it worth the jump?

I have a final round of in-person interviews coming up. So far, I have had 3 rounds excluding pre-screen. In the final in-person round, I will be meeting 3 people per recruiter, including the hiring manager, whom I met in round 1. I am sure I am not the only one making to this round, so I'm really looking to nail this round. Any advice is appreciated. According to the recruiter, if I make it through this round, then the next step will be the intro call will be with the CEO.

I’ve been doing this for 10 years now. Single with no kids. I’m thinking about trying to scale back on my career somehow. I struggle with wanting time for things I enjoy outside of work but want good comp at the same time. Doing well financially though. I’m wondering how one goes about doing scaling back in public accounting? I normally see people with kids doing it but I just want more time for life. Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!

I work for a nation-wide company with fully remote workers and everyone is paid the same across the board - I live in a high cost state where the minimum wage is $14 and am getting paid the same as people who work in a state where the minimum wage is $7.25, minimum wage. So I'm only making a few dollars more than minimum wage and we are all doing the same amount of work. Is this normal for a company to not scale the pay based on the a state's minimum wage?

I’ve been working two healthcare jobs just to make ends meet, and I’m running on fumes. The money helps cover bills, but my body and brain are starting to pay the price. I’m constantly tired, irritable, and I feel like I barely exist outside of work. Part of me is terrified to let go of the extra income, but part of me knows this pace isn’t sustainable. If you’ve ever juggled multiple gigs, how did you know it was time to scale back?

I’m a 35 year old director in public accounting and I’ve been thinking I want to scale back for more personal time. Something like 2,100 hours a year I’m thinking. That could mean leaving to go to industry or reducing my hours in public. Those of you who have scaled back and stayed in public, how did it work out? Any other suggestions or opinions?

During my search for a different employment opportunities, I make sure to understand the salary ranges. I then average the pay into an hourly and annual amounts to prepare for the desired salary amount question. Is the best route to pick a figure in the middle or low end, but definitely not the high end? I think an average of the low and middle range is the best option.
