On my movie watch list - The AI Doc: Or How I Became an Apocaloptimist is a deeply personal documentary that explores the existential crossroads of artificial intelligence. The film is framed through Roher’s own journey into fatherhood; as he prepares to welcome his first child, he is gripped by "AI insanity" and the dire warnings that the technology could either save or end humanity. Are you using AI to help you in your job search by allowing it to help you revamp your resume to be able to pass through AI / ATS that companies use, filtering jobs on job boards for you with your resume so you are spending less time searching and wondering if you qualify for a role, drafting cover letters / notes to attach to your application (if room is permitted), drafting thank you notes for after the phone screen and/or interview, and drafting follow up letters? AI is nothing but a tool.

Hi all, hope you're enjoying your weekend, wherever you find yourselves. I am currently applying for corporate or securities paralegal roles and I have encountered a lot of AI-driven type stuff with respect to "Am I qualified" diagnostics based on my resume. How much, if any stock should I put into AI-driven analyses of my qualitfications? I have had a lot of "good match" assessments and a few "fair match" ones. Should I go ahead and apply if I get a "fair match" to the job? Thanks.

Hello Have you guys seen the massive amount of AI Apps that can help you with so many tasks these days? I am now finding so many that can do what I need, but once you download them you find that they are not as good for what you are ultimately looking to do. Even Copilot, Grok, ChatGpt are giving you ideas of AI Apps that are not that great! How do you navigate this sea of apps at this point???

I’ve been reading about how big chains like McDonald’s, Chipotle, and Yum Brands are going all-in on AI. Everything from predicting when fryers will break down to drive-thru voice bots and scheduling tools. On paper, it sounds great. But I can’t help wondering what this means for workers in the long run. Does AI actually make our jobs easier? Would you want AI in your restaurant?

I think using AI in Job Hunting is like a eating a mushy Holiday sandwich. You have all the perks of using AI as the moist turkey, and your achievements are all the stuffing, but these multiple layers of AI use in Resumé building and ATS screening creates a mush between cranberry sauce and mashed potatoes. You can still eat that sandwich but you have to get through the messy bits.

The Senior Dev who interviewed me last week was an AI-generated avatar. The company bragged during the wrap-up that they use these Digital Twins for first-round technicals to save their engineers' time. I spent an hour trying to build rapport with a sequence of pixeIs. Anyone else weirded out by the AI Interviewer trend?
