Is it super against the rules to sign a letterhead employment verification letter myself, as an HR Administrative Assistant, instead of my HR Director? A former EE requested a letter, was rehired, promoted, demoted, so the dates and rate was incorrect on the first letter HR Dir. signed and sent. She didn't want to rewrite the letter in more detail, and it was petty the way she sent the letter back. I was happy to write out the details for correct representation but I now HR Dir. wont wanna sign

Four months ago I accepted a position as a store leader that also included a sign on bonus. I wasn’t 100% familiar with all of the processes and was told I would train with another manager to get caught up to speed. There’s no communication on next steps and shifted to 3 different stores to what I assume is to cover because they are understaffed with assistants. I have not seen a dime of my sign on. I can’t help feeling that I’ve been hired for a position that didn’t exist.

What are some signs you can look for when being reached out to by a recruiter to make sure it’s a legit position? I was recently sent an email from a recruiter about a job that is the perfect fit for me. However, I became hesitant when I noticed the description matched my experience too closely and there was one line that was almost directly taken from my LinkedIn. I almost want to keep responding in case it is real though. What should I look for?

I want to leave my firm, but my contract has a clawback provision where I have to repay my sign-on bonus if I leave before the two-year mark. I’m at 18 months, and I’m miserable, but I don’t have $20k sitting in a bank account to pay them back. I’ve heard that some firms will buy out these clauses to land a top candidate, but I don’t know how to bring that up. Is a sign-on buyout a standard thing recruiters can negotiate?

Friend of mine (23) is being asked by her cousin to “just sign at closing” on a house purchase. Not a case of a co-signer or co-owner. He says her name can be removed later and that it won’t impact her DTI/credit because it’s in a “trust agreement. She’s worried about her debt to income ratio among other things. I’m not in support of her signing anything at that age. Especially on a mortgage! What do you guys think?

i Guys, Recently, I got an offer of 10 lakhs from the Hackett group India Ltd based out of Hyderabad. They are asking me to sign a legal document which includes to mention the details of a blank cheque worth 2 lakhs. The HR said that they are doing it for security reasons, in case if I don't join the organisation post 90days of notice period. Can anyone help me if this is a standard practice or is it some scam?

I am so sick and tired of people leaving their hiring signs and they're not actually hiring. If you're not hiring why do we have the sign up?! You know how hard it is to find a job out here? Especially after you got fired with no actual communication that you WERE fired? Please, I am begging you. If you're not hiring, don't put the sign up.

I have a problem caused by quality assurance, well technically I omitted a sign in a change but now QA is dragging their feet on letting me fix it. They also are the ones who set the deadline (won’t extend it of course). So I’m sitting here after hours waiting on a signature to then go beg my client to sign quickly. Anyone else already running out of energy at work?

So I woke up this morning to an email from a "recruiter" that thought I would be good for a job which had SEVERAL red flags: the email came from a Gmail account, the job description was sent as an attachment when most recruiters will put it in the body of the email, there was no company signature line, and the email was received at 1:06 CST.

If you were promised a signing bonus, what is the usual procedure for that? Do they add it to your check or is it separate from your normal check? I’d imagine there’s nothing ceremonial about it, I thought it would come with my normal check but it didn’t. Also, is it ok to ask about it to confirm the details of how I will receive it?
