How many of you have seen a job posting where they offer a sign on bonus? That should be a very big red flag to you that the company has a high turnover rate and the larger the sign on bonus, whether or not they also list stipulations, shows how high their turnover rate is. I came across a job posting offering $18 - $22 that is Full Time with a $1,440. sign on bonus with the whole bonus due back to the employer if you leave before the 6th month and half due back if you leave in months 6-11.

Merger information statement - rep the company. How do we actually send this out to 70 stockholders? One generic Docusign that gets blasted to them all? Do you have to actually personalize anything in these? Only thing we want them to sign is the written consent and can’t think of anything that needs personalization. If we were to include a joinder as an exhibit to be signed would that change things? Would you attach form of joinder or have to personalize so then have to personalize all 70?

I’m an ultrasonographer in a research lab ready to leave due too poor/indifferent leadership and stagnant pay. I have been in the position +6yrs and am considered vital to my lab/collaborators using my services. I do not feel beholden to give my boss more than 2wks notice, but for collaborators that book me weeks/months in advance I’m conflicted. Should I give them prior warning or combine notices together? I’m a people pleaser and don’t want to upset the people that actually see my value.

Today is World Mental Health Day, and I am joining the #HelloYellow 💛 movement by talking about the importance of mental health. Let this be a reminder that: ✨ It’s okay to not be okay ✨ We all have mental health, just like physical health ✨ A little kindness can go a long way So today, let’s support each other, check in on our loved ones, and spread positivity like sunshine 🌞 💛 Wear something yellow (if you can) 💛 Talk, listen, and be there 💛 Be kind to your mind (and others’)

Just a lil PSA to the person who marks every email as “high importance” w/ the little red exclamation mark: I’m already a neurotic biglaw associate working for anxious partners. I get a minor palpitation every time any new email hits my inbox. I promise I’ve been fully conditioned to treat every message as a potential fire. The extra “high importance” flag is doing absolutely no additional work here lol

Sign-on bonuses have always been a hot topic in the job market; a tempting way for companies to attract top talent quickly. But with the changing economy and hiring trends in 2025, I’m curious: Are these bonuses still as common as they used to be? Or are companies shifting their focus to other perks and benefits? Do companies still offer sign-on bonuses in 2025? What’s your experience been like?

How do you find meaning in the work you do? Sometimes I’m sitting here at 2:00 AM moving numbers from one cell to another and I wonder if I’m actually contributing anything to the world. We facilitate capital, sure, but does that actually matter at the end of the day? I’m looking for ways to pivot into ESG or Impact Investing just to feel some connection to a greater good.

Junior on my team emailed client a redline compared against the prior version “sharted with (client)” instead of “shared”. Client had a heavy markup to it and responded saying “well looks like you sharted out this one as well.” Funny for me but partner not happy with junior - just a reminder to always proof emails folks! Especially for words like “shared” and “Regards”

I’m in the final stages with a Series C startup and they’ve met my OTE requirements, but I’m walking away from a $30k bonus at my current spot if I leave now. I want to ask for a sign-on bonus to bridge the gap. The recruiter hasn't mentioned sign-ons at all during the process. How do you guys usually frame the make-whole conversation without sounding like a diva?

I am so sick and tired of people leaving their hiring signs and they're not actually hiring. If you're not hiring why do we have the sign up?! You know how hard it is to find a job out here? Especially after you got fired with no actual communication that you WERE fired? Please, I am begging you. If you're not hiring, don't put the sign up.
